D.L.S 11 Posted July 21, 2010 Members: Masatoshi "Sho" Ono - Vocals Syu - Guitar/Backing Vocals Taka - Bass Yuhki - Keyboards/Backing Vocals Junichi Satoh - Drums Former Members: Masahiro "Yama-B" Yamaguchi Yu-To A Shôgo Himuro Toshihiro Yui Yusuke Yoshinori Kataoka Tsui Early on Galneryus could be classified as very technical Progressive Metal and Neo-classical Metal. They have always been known for their technical prowess, in a way similar to Dream Theater. Following their third release they started incorporating heavier traits in their music, what eventually led to modern rock and metal similarities. Singer Yama-b started noticing their unique style fading away and left to focus on his other projects. The album Reincarnation is a synthesis of the changes that led to One for All - All For One, showcasing mainstream modern metal and the technical power metal the band is known for. With the departure of long time vocalist Yama-b and bassist Yu-To (who was partly responsible for the change towards heavier, modern mainstream metal), the band changed their style once again, being able to return to their roots while adding elements from progressive rock and progressive metal, making their most technical album to date, Resurrection. New album is awesome!!!
Number Girl 48 Posted July 21, 2010 Their first two albums were the only ones I really like. I personally enjoyed Yama-B's vocals better too.
SUBLIMINAL 52 Posted July 22, 2010 That Yama-B, man. I miss him, but the new vocalist isn't bad. I can't believe Leda ditched this for DELUHI.
toshii9245 0 Posted July 22, 2010 I started missing Yama-B for certain reasons after seeing their live with Ono as a vocalist on youtube. Man, Ono's voice just sucked in live. >_>
