kurorockdude 0 Posted March 2, 2011 I live in Canada, and here we use the NTSC system or something I believe. I want to buy ViViD's new live DVD, but I want to know if it'll be compatible with any of my DVD players. I also have a PAL dvd player and PS2 I got when I was in England. Are any of these compatible with Japanese dvd's and if not, what is compatible with a japanese DVD and where can I get it?
TheBistroButcher666 228 Posted March 2, 2011 Eh, it depends. Japan is region 2 I think? And Canada is the same as the US and uses region 1, Japan also uses NTSC like the US and Canada. I'm not a DVD person but from my experience the smaller indie bands the DVDs are region free so it's not a big deal. When it comes to more popular (major) bands (Versailles for example with their Jublee release) there is usually a region encoding on the DVD. You can just pop it in your computer, rip it and burn it to a DVDR. Your PC is going to bitch at you about regions stating you have a limited number of times you can change it but you can just download a mod to bypass it.
