Thanks! Yeah I love Janne, especially their blend of almost jazzy rhythms sometimes with hard rock, songs like Blackjack, Dry? etc. Glad you like my music too! Thank you so much, mate! For anyone interested, there are a few more songs to listen to for free on our sound cloud page: https://soundcloud.com/mark-zero
  2. Hey, thanks! Glad you like it, I haven't been a lead singer before (played guitar for 15 years though ) so it means a lot to hear that! Cheers!
  3. Hey all! So today my band Mark Zero uploaded a new song, thought I'd share it here with you guys and see what you think https://soundcloud.com/mark-zero/all-that-i-loved-was-the-enemy It's completely self-produced and home-made If you like it there's more on our soundcloud page, and that's where we'll keep posting stuff
  4. It depends on the band's approach to recording. It's common now for bands with only 4-5 members to use 150 layers of guitars and effects on their records. Those bands tend to sound weak live because the songs aren't arranged to sound good live, and if you've listened to the record a lot you feel like you're missing out on a bunch of stuff. On the other hand, a band that is 4 people and only record one part for each member (1 guitar, 1 bass, one drum kit and vocals), those bands tend to sound even better live because of the extra energy. I think it's pretty rare these days to see really good new live bands, because musicians are getting so used to just keep adding stuff in the studio to make their songs sound powerful, so they never learn to sound powerful on their own.

Wow, you're all so friendly! Thanks! I think I'll enjoy it here! Sorry about the glaring typo in the thread title btw
  6. Hey! I'm John, I'm a singer/guitar player from Sweden I got into japanese music in 2005 when I discovered Luna Sea. Since then some of my favorite bands have been Janne Da Arc, MUCC, The GazettE, Abingdon Boys School, Bazra and well many others. I'm also a big fan of Kumi Koda A few years ago I started a YT channel called "JRockLessons" where a group of us joined together and made tutorials on how to play certain songs or solos from japanese bands. I haven't had the time to be that active with it for a while, having been very busy with my own bands This is the band I'm in now! I'm the lead singer dude guy Hope to meet some cool people on here, take care! //John
