It would depend on my mood, but right now I prefer Never Follow Suit just because it fits my mood better.

I’m pretty jealous of all those really long lists, if only I had more time to discover new music. The few new releases that I heard and liked are: Boris – Präparat A very nice and atmospheric album. It being released on LP is a plus for me, the bigger the medium the better! Ensemble Pearl – Ensemble Pearl Another collaboration between Boris and Sunn members? Yes please. My bloody valentine – mbv It doesn’t quite reach the level of awesome of Loveless, but still an amazing release. VA – yellow loveless –japan- This actually is loveless! Even if some of the artists don’t seem to fit it all works out pretty nicely. 東京酒吐座 and Lemon’s chair - japan shoegazer as only one A solid release, nothing spectacular. But it makes me excited for the new東京酒吐座 album. The only release I didn’t like too much was 再生の風景 by the cabs… or did I? I can’t really remember.

This thread needs more love for My Bloody Valentine! They recently released Yellow Loveless, basically the original Loveless but covered by various Japanese bands. With as highlights Sometimes covered by Boris and Lemon’s chair’s cover of To Here Knows When. I’m not entirely sure they fit here, but you should definitely check out 푸른새벽 (Bluedawn). They’re easily one of my favorite all time bands, the music is very atmospheric and the vocals are great. Another not really shoegaze but definitely worth checking out band would be The Radio Dept. Their music has more of an indie/rock feel to it. You should try Astrobrite sometime as well, Astrobrite is Scott Cortez’s (from lovesliescrushing) project. They sound a bit like some of Coaltar of the Deeper’s shoegaze like songs. Cortez wrote the lyrics for coaltar’s song AOA and Narasaki was involved in the production of Astrobrite’s album Super Crush. So if you’re into Coaltar you’ll probably enjoy Astrobrite as well. And thanks for all the recommendations, I’ll definitely give them a listen.

Hey everyone! My name is Huub, I’m 23 and from the Netherlands. I’m currently in my (hopefully) second to last year to becoming an electrical engineer. When I’m not busy for college I like to play Magic the Gathering, going to the gym, reading and listening to music. When it comes to music I’m pretty open-minded, so I’ll listen to almost anything. But the genres I end up listening to most are dream pop, indie and shoegaze. Some of my favorite Japanese bands are Coaltar of the Deepers, Guniw Tools, 凛として時雨, Ness and P-Model.
