I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I'm just so used to this happening by now...
-
Same old same old Aoi but I really have missed this silly boy. 😊
-
SCREW was the 3rd VK band I discovered after the GazettE and D'espairsRay so they'll always hold a special place in my heart as part of what I refer to now as 'the first wave'. Many, many more have followed since then, it's just so easy to pick up new bands when you hear something you like and there's plenty to look into so I'm sure you'll find some good stuff. Welcome 😁 Also I do love good fics but sadly there aren't nearly as many around these days as there used to be.

Sad news, I was just starting to get into them after years of putting off taking the plunge.
-
Not a bad song, it'll probably grow on me after a few more listens.
-
Sounds good so far. I'm looking forward to the rest.

I can probably understand why Takehito would want to do this but personally I see very little point in it. As some of you already said, it's not either Ayabie that the fans knew and loved. I actually miss Yumehito singing but alas it's obviously not what he really wanted to do.

Okay so I knew something 'interesting' or 'ridiculous' was bound to happen while I was without proper internet for a week but this... Don't even know what to say.
-
I'd like to believe that's not true but at least we're all here to share the love. Welcome 😊

I still like to think he watched Varuna and went, "What the hell was I thinking!?" 😄

Well out of all the new bands that have come about recently, this one looks/sounds the most interesting to me.
-
I wasn't impressed with ChainDreamers at all but it sounds like there might be at least a couple of songs on the album worth buying it for, so I can't judge until I get it.
-
Loving their new look and I'm quite looking forward to this because I shied away from these guys for way too long.
-
I'm not sure I like this idea, remastering doesn't necessarily make songs 'better'. Even when Mago completely re-recorded Kami Uta it wasn't a 100% improvement.

I'm happy Byou is back and that we got Jin too is the icing on the cake.

Ah, that's good then, my PC is jam packed with my own .vob rips of band PV's. Good luck with your live DVD rip.
-
The problem with .vob and the reason most people shy away from them is they are very big files. An average movie will come out between 3 and 5GB depending on the movie because it is essentially a direct ripped copy of the raw data on a DVD. In this case a lot of people choose to convert to .mkv because the converted file can be compressed and will come out considerably smaller with minimal loss of quality. Personally, I stick with .vob because I don't like any loss of quality but I'm just picky.

Not a bad song. I may need to investigate further.

I definitely didn't see this coming but then I lost track of Matenrou a while ago. I hope it works out for him.

They mentioned Japan's heatwave on the news a few weeks ago and I thought of all the band guys, then this happened. It's getting pretty bad everywhere now but I hope Levi gets better soon and everyone takes care in the heat.

Actually what I find calming is the very thing that brought you here. I've never been a huge fan of DEG but I do like some of their songs and Obscure and Saku are always my go to songs when I need calm. I don't know, loud and fast just has that affect on me I guess. 🙃

Having a pacifier was actually a 'trend' when I was in high school. Okay they were teenagers but still... Scary times.

On that note though, I wouldn't let disbandment put you off listening to The Black Swan, Nega or any other disbanded band because the music is still relevant. I've listened to a lot of bands over the years who had long since disbanded by the time I found them and if I'd let that put me off then I would have missed out on seeing Dio -Distraught Overlord- on their Euro reunion tour. Good luck with your searching though, I do believe the Japanese rock scene still has a lot to offer old and new.

Hi all, I've been a member since 2012 but I don't think I ever made an introduction post back then, truth is I'm not actually the most talkative person in the world but I did pop up in a few threads here and there. After that, I lost touch with MH for quite a while but some recent events within the fandom brought me back and since then I've been back every day not just for that but all the news, so I thought I'd pop up again. I got into VK in 2010 via the GazettE and to this day they remain my favorite band. At the time me and my friend agreed we wouldn't look any further than them because it would be too 'dangerous', at least for me anyway. That lasted all of about a week before I went snooping and discovered D'espairsRay, then Screw and then it just spiralled from there. Whenever I get bored, I always end up looking for new VK music to listen to and they all just accumulate on my PC and in my CD collection. Active bands I follow besides the GazettE are Diaura, Razor, Reign, a few others and I recently got into Kizu and Fixer. Outside of VK, the other place I haunt on a regular basis is the blu ray site as I'm also an avid collector of movies and TV shows and that's about it. Thanks all.
