    Interesting! I think I've never really told anyone about it.

     

    Animu played a huge part for my entry to asian music. In this country, they've shown really old anime that had memorable themes that stuck to me (even as early as kindergarten). I also had piano lessons with various teachers (who I hated lol) but there was one who was my favorite. She loved japanese compositions and I'd play those stuff as recital pieces. I forgot about them and only recalled now actually. So apart from classical music, I was also familiar with japanese piano pieces whose titles escaped me. I can still remember their sound though. I was probably too young to memorize name that time. My teacher's in another country now.

     

    And remember the era of song request/song rotation sites? LOL I owned one blog like it. I remember uploading like 5 songs every Saturday and reviewing them, same time getting feedback from my site's visitors. It's where I got into Jpop outside anime, eventually to korean and taiwanese. During HS, I had a jap close friend and we exchanged burned cds that had our favorite songs. He was the one who got me into VK, and I started searching for bands of my own then. 

     

    The time came that I finally gotten a hold of a paypal account and discovered the wonders of online shopping. I started buying cds of artists I like, the least I can do to support them. I'm fairly new to broadening my music, I think. I almost stopped updating my playllst during college 'cause it was toxic that I hardly had time for internet. But everything's changed now. I'm trying to listen to artists that gets my attention by searching in last.fm! 

     

    I think I have no solid definition for my music taste. As long as an artist gets my attention, I guess?

    gackt speaks perfect english. if you ever watch the movie bunraku he speaks english the whole film. but yeah hearing them speak engrish is hilarious.

    Gackt as Yoshi, the Samurai without a sword. xD Somehow, i just couldn't take him seriously in Bunraku. It's...hard to, after knowing how he dances a midst a crowd of people in kitty suits. 

     

    ...on staying on topic, I guess gackt really did improve on english. Compared to 12gatsu no Love song and To Feel The Fire, etc.

    Nice to meet you Kevin/octoral/however you want me to call you :) I don't know too much about non-VK bands (apart from a few electronic exceptions + Boris and Arukara for example), but I hope you'll be one of those who can educate me on that :D Don't be afraid to drop by in the chat and have a talk with the regulars! Most of them are into non-VK as well :) And last but not least, enjoy the forum!

    I don't know much about non-vk bands too...actually I'm almost always confused whether a band is VK or not.Most of the time, I don't check their appearance which is I guess a bad habit of being lazy x_x 

    I like Boris! I haven't heard of Arukara, I'll check them out in a bit. Thanks for the rec<3

    Well, they've been working on a new album for over a year by now. Too bad they're latest live-only single has never been properly leaked. You can listen to it here.

     

    but yeah, there are some other me-al art fans over here too. They're scarce, but they're there =)

    well no, not really but I can be called Kevin too.

    Anyhow, I've been a lurker/freeloader for a while now and I figured I should start sharing my stuff too now that I'm a jobless hermit who has a lot of free time. 

     

    umm...well, I don't really have much cds anyways but I prolly have a few people could be looking for. I'll just check the requests later on. Hmm...what else?

    I've discovered the joys of indies lately...and stuff sounding like 殻, me-al art, SYN, My First Story, Mary Story (lol totally related)
