Hello I'm Evey. I'm a 21 year old college student in the States.
I've been an on and off jrock fan. Malice Mizer and Gackt started it all for me in 2003. I like old school bands more than the new scene, like laraku and glay. I prefer indie and underground than mainstream jrock.
I was a big fan on Alice Nine when they first debuted but I feel like they have gone completely mainstream and their music changed so much. They have good songs now and then though. I really liked rumwolf and Senkou from their Gemini album. I still watch and listen to them because they are total eye-candy.
My favorite band right now is heidi. I love Yoshihiko's voice. It's so unique in the indie scene and I enjoy their lyrics and composition. I heard of them right when they debuted with Utakata, and I loved their sound. I try to be loyal and follow a band from debut til the end.
I had heard of Lolita23q when I was in Japan in 2007, but hadn't thought much of them until recently. I really like their new sound. I prefer Soshi's voice and style over Sou's.
Other bands I listen to are the Gazette, vidoll, goldenbomber, Layzis. Dir en grey, Nightmare, moi dix mois. etc
I used to be very into Korean pop too. But now I feel like kpop is now faker than plastic. You can't tell one artist from another neither by looks, voice, songs, nor dance. They all seem like clones of each other. I loved old school kpop like H.O.T, Shinhwa, Fly to the Sky, g.o.d, 1TYM. I tried listening to the new stuff and I liked Big bang when they first debuted but their new direction is also questionable.
... Well those are my interests. I would love to find people with the same interests as me. And I'm very open to new discoveries. I get very excited when I discover new bands.
