I agree. I think I paid something like $80 for a shirt at one of their lives and I felt like that was high... But this is pretty insane. I know that bands need money to keep afloat, but ~$116 per song is the most I've ever heard of before. Prices like that pretty much encourage piracy.

Just saw this. I hope when they say "Demo" they mean basically a finished song like how rongai na ikimono toshite was a "demo"

Last night we got Hydra 666 and I lost my God damn mind. Honestly felt the energy from the band in Sacramento was better than LA. Also, there was talk of an opener for the Sac show, but there ended up not being one. Anyone know why? Not that I'm complaining.

@Kabukichoatmidnight Don't worry, people have very polarized opinions on most music on here it seems. I think it's kinda cool that people who have such varying opinions can find some commonality in Jrock as a whole. I for one am stoked for the new album. I think I played ただ まだ 私 5 times today off YouTube. I'm surprised Rongai Na Ikimono Toshite wasn't going to be on Infinitum though. It sounded amazing when I heard it live, and even the "demo" from Passio sounds great. One of my favorite new songs by them.

Heard two new songs last night that will probably be on the album, and they were both amazing. Im looking forward to it.

Thanks soooo much for all the tips. I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner. January is a super busy month for me! I added a bunch of the places you suggested to my trip itinerary, especially for Osaka and Nagoya. I'm super excited because we just scored tickets to see a few shows. Sukekiyo, Dadaroma, and Komodo Dragon! I'm so stoked to go on this trip. About the only thing I still need to figure out is the best way to convert dollars to yen when we're in Japan. Thanks again! P.s. @cvltic I actually used eplus to get the Sukekiyo tickets! Thanks for the tip!

I'll be at this live actually, but I don't think I'll pick up the Blu-ray. I know it helps to support the band, but $80 for a disc feels a little too much for me. Still, I'm interested to hear this new song one day!

Hey thanks so much for all the awesome suggestions! That's more than I was hoping for. We're going to be in Japan for 2 weeks, and we'll be in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and possibly Nagoya. These pages you shared with me are going to be a big help. What are some of your favorite things in Osaka?

I'm traveling to Japan in February and I'm wondering if any fellow J-rock fans have suggestions on things to do. I've got friends who have been before, but none of them are interested in J-rock, so I don't have any good ideas of what to do while I'm there. Are there any j-rock landmarks, cool j-rock stores or bars to check out? I'm open to just about anything. I'd really love to see a concert, but I know not many bands play in the Winter. Any suggestions related to Nagoya Kei style stuff would be extremely helpful for me too! Thanks

I can get the feeling like the most recent album was odd, especially with the heavy electronic elements. I for one am a fan of blending electronica and rock, when it's done right, but tracks like 光の帝国 were a little too much for me. I guess when you've done it all, it's a little hard to make something new. On a separate note, the way BT has changed since their conception, and the way they obviously inspire modern acts makes me think a lot about David Bowie. Both have such a diverse offering of sounds and compositions. It's hard to nail them down.

What does everyone think about their most recent album, No.0? I was pleasantly surprised myself. The previous 2 albums were a bit hit and miss with me, but No.0 had a really interesting feel to it. Especially with the crazy songs like Gustav and Bishu Love. The singles we're also really nice. I'd really love to sing Moon さよならを教えて or Ophelia some time at karaoke.

Wait, there really wasn't a Buck-Tick thread here until now? And they call this place a VK site? Buck-Tick is one of my hands down favorite bands of all time. I'm consistently amazed that they can put out amazing work even now. Their latest album, No.0 was absolutely amazing! Like @Tanishi said, there are very few bands who make quality, innovative work for as long as they have, and there are very few bands who have such a range of sounds. I'm a fan of all of their work, from Aku no Hana, to their most recent release. I think I probably know the lyrics to more of their songs than any other jrock band. I could really write a novel about how much I like BT! And how about their live acts?

Thanks! I'll definitely look into these! I've only ever heard of Scapegoat and Kagerou, but I never listened. Kagerou was the band with sing from The Studs, right?

I finally got to listen to the whole thing tonight. As others pointed out, it's hard to judge a DeG album on it's first listen. I really didn't like DSS at all when it first came out, and it slowly grew on me, so I'll reserve any negative feelings on the album until I've heard it at least 3 or 4 times all the way through. So far, I like about 8 out of the 13 songs, so that's a pretty solid score. I think the most honest thing I can say after the first listen is that I hope they don't go 4 years between releases again. I think a big part of my opinion on the album is that we had a long wait to build up anticipation. I wonder how people's feelings would been if this kind of album just came out a year after Arche.
-
I can't listen to the whole album until I get off work but holy shit I just heard Zetsuen-tai and I almost pissed myself. That was soooo good. Didn't expect the DSS-esque metal moment in and it was a welcomed surprise. I can't wait to buy the album!!!

Well that was... Something. Kinda songs like when my car alarm goes off. Oh no, I'm becoming a complaining fan boy.
-
This guy did a cover before the album even dropped. That's some dedication.

Hi there. I've been lurking on this site for years probably. I drop by any time one of my favorite bands has a new release, and I just finally decided to make an account. I hope that by coming by here I can learn about some bands I've never heard of, and meet some people who like the same kinds of bands I do. I'm a big fan of the darker, moodier stuff. Mostly any band where Ryo has done vocals or Aie has played the guitar, I'm hooked. Some of my favorites have been Buck-Tick, Dir En Grey, 9Goats Black Out, Deadman, Sukekiyo, Sugar/Konig/MORE, KEEL, MUCC, The GazettE and more. I started listening to Jrock in general when my girlfriend introduced me a few years ago. Now it's about 70% of all I listen to. If you've got any suggestions on bands you think I'd like, please let me know. It's nice to meet you all! はじめまして!

Oh weird, I can't get the chat to work, it just sits there loading forever. Oh well, I'll just keep lurking.
-
I'll hang out in the chat for a little while, do you mean the discord? I've got nothing to do tonight but draw and wait for the leaks.

The excitement is cranking up to 11. I keep remembering this is the first album in 4 years and I get stoked.
-
Thanks, I didn't know that. When I think of anime music I think of uverworld or Alice 9, so it was hard for me to think of DeG doing something like that
-
Hahahaha I thought so, but if that's the case I don't know what kind of animes those people have been watching lol
-
First off, Thanks for sharing! I'm not sure if I'm going to be stoked on this album given the samples. (Arche will be hard to top for me) But they are just samples after all, so a good hooky chorus might change my mind. The second half of the album is definitely more my speed, though I gotta admit, the rap part in Value of Maddness had me shocked. Which one of these was "go mad"? Ya know the song everyone was saying was an "anime" song?

I honestly love -most- of the rerecordings of their new songs, bit the remixes usually miss me. The folklore version of Vanitas is nice though because it's so different.
