The "Coming soon" box will probably change by re-launch. It was originally a "recent news" box with images and headlines but since we'll have other projects still open it seemed like a good place to stick progress updates while we work on other big modules and site updates. It has yet to be fully styled for it's new purpose but shall look prettier soon~

We do have plans to add a sidebar to articles with latest news, related news, categories and possible archive. Each of those can be added with widgets but there are no pre-existing widgets for some of these so Kai will have to custom build them once a few more important projects are taken care of. It will be a number of week's before we'll have very many articles so for now it's fairly simple to access everything via the articles menu at the top. All navigation items can be clicked for a main page listing all content or hovered over for a drop down with specifics. In the case of the articles page the drop down contains a list of categories for easier sorting. There is also a search feature and tags can be clicked to pull up related news items. Should definitely be enough to get us by for the first few weeks till we can get our widget situation sorted.

The 2nd picture is an example of a user profile. User profiles are the same for both standard users and staff members. A fun little feature I added is the ability for the user to change the "style" of the profile, meaning they can choose their own header background. Other aspects of profile appearance will be editable in the future. There are lots of user features we'll be introducing slowly.

The 3rd picture is an article page for news and what not. The tagging system is implemented across the entire site, so clicking a tag will pull up not just other news articles but band profiles, discographies and more (once we have everything up of course).

I think once Kai at least finishes login integration with MH we'll start asking for people to join in as staff and volunteers to work on band profiles

Hello people who probably don't know me! I am Manda. My job is to make things look pretty and function on the front end of Deadeyes-star.com (Kai gets the back end, hehehe). Here I present to you my first "Letter from the Designer"!

The past couple of weeks I've made huge progress in coding out DS's theme with pyrocms. However, we discovered the hard way that pyro is great for back end development and completely sucks for front end. There is little documentation on how to properly set things up functionally in regards to front end functions so it's been a whole bunch of trial and error and making shit up! So I apologize for my part of things taking a little long ;__;

As of right now we have the following functioning:

• User login and login forms
• User registration and registration forms
• User Profiles and control panel
• User shoutbox
• "Featured" slider
• Articles and all article functions complete
• Category and site wide tagging system
• Commenting system
• Static Pages

All of this not including the massive amount of work Kai put into building the custom module for bands. Before we can open to the public we need we need to finish up the following:

• Index page set up
• Band profile layout coded
• Search Function
• MH to DS user accont integration

Once these features are complete the site can launch in it's test phase and designated staff can begin work on entering information into the database! SO EXCITING!

Adding in these features shouldn't take very long. I estimate less than a month if we can keep up a good pace with only a couple of brick walls to run into.
