I think most people expressed what I have been thinking. I found out about them back in like 2013 and honestly never bothered with anything from the era with Tora. I'm not surprised but pretty disappointed. I figured they'd just be around forever since they've already been around forever while staying at the same small size. I agree that MANJ"'s back problems can't go unmentioned and are probably a factor. He's one of the best drummers I've ever seen and I can't imagine him taking the task of an official band again but I hope he doesn't retire entirely... I've seen them about 10 times and have had a lot of memories from those lives--catching Jon before his ass fell on the ground, Ryuga pulling me in to shout into the mic, saizen in front of Tsubaki, drinking with friends after seeing them, etc. etc. I can't believe it's been about a year since I've seen them....... orz They've always been good live. But my problem with them is less their performance but more their range. A lot of their songs are amazing but if you listen to them all together it all kind of sounds the same. Really bummed I can't go to their last live. At the very least I guess I will go see them on Tuesday since they are in Osaka then. As for fav release it'd have to be brave It has some of my favorite songs of theirs: brave, MADIA, 鬼哭啾啾

i'm just not big on the 女形 (onna gata) thing, personally. I just don't get the appeal......

@Alkaloidyeah, after Haru left. I really want to be more into them than I actually am tbh but every time I see them or listen to them all I think is that I'd rather see/listen to Cradle. but they did say at least that they wouldn't be stopping activities so I guess maybe they'll continue as a four person band??

They also debuted as an official band at Crimzon's label event earlier this year. Pretty sure they're Crimzon. Just might not be able to say it officially right now tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Guitarist Shin and drummer Keita will leave Starku. Shin, who has been absent from lives since August for medical reasons if I recall, will not be able to return. Keita's last live will be September 26th. He is leaving due to family reasons. From October 2nd they will have a support drummer. source

they like never play the tanuki song anymore lmao I haven't heard it live actually but yeah they're getting pretty big! I can see them selling out Osaka MUSE in the future. their recent onemans were really packed apparently. I'm really curious what the shusais will be like especially since the second one they've got their name spelled in romaji. they're so fun, I'm really looking forward to whatever's coming up for them maybe one day i'll actually buy merch and not just the CDs............ also with the new outfits aoshi has this gigantic fur hood/hat thing that's hilarious imo

are we just talking about at one time or in general? Let's see Souiumono's probably the band I've dropped the most cash on. I've seen them the most besides maybe Ensoku, been to their in stores the most, bought the most CDs, cheki etc of theirs. In one go: Plane: $300 maybe Hotel: -- (stayed at a friends) Ticket folder (6 tickets): $180 Ticket for actual concert: $30? + $5+ for drink Cheki: probably like $30~$50 SO I guess the total was about $550 Which to be honest wasn't that uncommon for me at one point--the plane ticket was almost always $280~360 whenever I had to fly to Tokyo from 2012-2015. Sometimes I stayed at hotels for days to a week at a time which really put a dent in my wallet haha um let's see So I am assuming an average price since receipts will only make me weep and are probably nonexistent and this point. When I was living in Shimane Tokyo costs were assumed to be $320, Osaka $100, etc. Ticket prices were assumed the average of $40 (this is to include the drink ticket price). CDs, as much as I would love to include the ones I bought on behalf of others, I only included the ones I bought for myself. costs of following Souiumono in general Travel (plane, bus, shinkansen): ~$5,000 Hotel cost: incalculable sorry I can't even begin to guess Cheki: $900 (60 x 3 x 5) CDs: ~$550 Goods (towels, scrunchies, etc): ~$200 Tickets: ~$1,120 Grand total?: $7,770~$12,000+ That's probably a low estimate tbh and remember I don't do this with only Souiumono, I've dropped thousands on plenty of bands. LOL BYE

I bought XAA-XAA goods too but I didn't want the t-shirt. The socks, however, are I somehow justified buying. And I went to see Shellmy yesterday so I bought a cheki ...and maybe a couple other things to do satsuei. wristbands, their towel (i love it you can't even tell it's for Shellmy it just looks like you're a salty bitch) and their fucked up makeinu shirt Shellmy is a such trainwreck I love them so much

Sorry, I'm the only one on here who went to those lives and got the CDs. I know one person who grabbed na mo naki off of an auction site but if he wants to share he probably would have by now. They're two of my favorite songs tbh but you shouldn't hold you breath (or should find someone to bid for you on auction sites)

Yeah, I'm not big on the subject matter either. It's why I took forever to get into Shellmy, one of the big reasons why I avoided AvelCain like the plague, etc etc. But menhera is "in" right now so to speak, so all the bands ever have to have at least one wrist cutting song. Given the concept of the three singles (despair) I'm not surprised. I like the song. But it's not my favorite and probably won't rank in the top ten for me, but it's good. Curious what the other song on the single will be like. I've gotta agree about the artwork. Though, dosuguroi's outfits seem pretty cheap lol

While there are some valid points most of this is turned up to 10. It's exaggerated to the point of no return. Though, I must say, dropping that much on bands? Yeah. It's true. And of course every band is different. Most people I know have not been attacked at lives. I have had one girl knock into me during mosh because she is possessive but most of the time it's all very civil. It depends on the band though, a grieva fan when moshing slammed into my arm that had a brace on it. As for gyaku dai, if you are prepared, it generally doesn't hurt that much. If not, what happened to suuu could happen to anyone, especially if the bar isn't padded. I've never really been attacked or felt like I was in danger. I've had my name mentioned or "that foreigner" on tanuki but it was never a big deal. I've never felt a need to hide my social media and never really tried too hard to hide my face in photos. For girls much more heavily involved in the scene tho it is something to consider--the internet bullying. But really there's so much more interesting and great stuff about this scene than "these girls attack you!!" And let's be real: mosh pits in the west are far more dangerous than anything I've witnessed at a vk live. Shitty musicians exist anywhere. Musicians who sleep with fans exist anywhere.

Wow! Glad to hear they were your favorite!! yeah the crowd always gets so into it. It's really impressive how for XAA-XAA how almost the entire crowd participates--even if it's an event for like 8 bands. BUT this is also my experience in Osaka so it's really great to hear that they're getting bigger in Tokyo too!! Must be from going there so often these days. The last time I saw them in Tokyo was in January and they still didn't have all that many fans there. But yeah, XAA-XAA gya are so into it lmao. I didn't go due to work, but one time they did an acoustic set and they played kanden and the girls still yelled at like SHIBIRERU and HIGH HIGH HIGH HIGH VOLTAGE which just sounds hilarious and I regret so much not finding a way to go to that acoustic set lol. That's a shame about missing the in store though! But yep Kazuki is a grade A weirdo!! He's really, really nice though. You're right on dosuguroi btw I'm guessing yomei is like the "white light" you supposedly see when you're dying ? It's so crazy to think how big XAA-XAA has become. Like their first oneman was just about 30 people and Shellmy lmao It's always so amazing to think how far they've come :') lol @ kazuki englishing i can't imagine
