I was just thinking about starting a thread like this earlier XD. You beat me to it! Extra Credits uiYuBrApdyY If you like video games and want to watch a show that is intelligent, look no further. I swear, every time I watch this show, it makes me wish I had gone in to video games instead. And you really do feel smarter for watching it. The high pitched voice can take a little while to get used to, but it is worth it. Technically, this is a Penny Arcade TV show, but w/e. PeanutButterGamer Plb8GegfL2U I am not sure how to describe PBG. He is kind of a video game reviewer, but he plays mostly games that are older or are just weird. He also has his own brand of silly that really makes him unique. I enjoy his G-Files show the most, which is pretty much a look in to weird things in video games. Rev3 Games PDiO-HHv27o I pretty much watch this channel for the “Sessler’s Something” show. Since I first saw him on X-Play so many years ago, he has always been one of my favorite Video Game “Personalities.” This format gives him a much better chance to do what he wants and I really enjoy it. DigitalRev TV JGP9yQ_B--A This is pretty much the Top Gear of camera review shows. You don’t need to be in to cameras to enjoy it. It is silly, some of the episodes get off course, but overall it is often funny and well done. That and there is an Asian guy with a British accent lol. =3 po8hmFDsxe0 If you visit youtube pretty much ever, you should know this one. The format of the show is about 4 minute episodes showcasing 3 viral videos each (and thus the name of the show). Ray is borderline annoying, but his shows are short and occasionally very funny. freddiew dXmMQJMFL_I Awesome action packed video with incredible video editing. Occasionally funny, usually badass, and full of video game stuff, this makes for a great channel. This is all I am going to post for now. I have more, but I will save those for later

All I can say is I love my Kindle DX. I am sad that Amazon has stopped making a large format size...apparently the demaned just isn't there. That said, I am very happy I got one while they were still making thing. I could deal with a smaller one for just reading (and honestly, it would probably work a lot better for just bringing it around places), but it just wouldn't work if I ever wanted to read manga on it (which is a huge part of the reason I got the Kindle DX).

I am still working my way through FF6....slowly XD Mark of the Ninja was on sale during the steam sale, I have heard a lot of good things about it, so I snagged it up. Still have yet to play any of it yet, though.

Good idea! Maybe we could have a worst releases on 2012 list too XD
-
That zucks. Sorry, I couldn't help it XD

I actualy liked Creature Creature's album more than Dead End's album 2012, but they were both great. I am interested to see where his solo stuff will fall in this category.

Come on, guys! Can we at least get a little feedback? Did you like the list or the format? Any questions you have on why we picked things or excluded others? Would you like to see us do this again in the future, or was this too much text? Something?!?! XD

I swear, I can only really tell the difference when I was reeeeally trying between the 192 and the 320/wav. I got them all, but it really took me a lot of listening and replaying to for sure pick them out. Between the 320 and the wav was impossible, though.

Just saw X-Men: First Class. I twas pretty decent but I though there was a lot wrong with it as well.

rofl, come on, Zess! You should have known better! ... So I always find these frequency response tests kind of iffy. They require a few different things: 1) The file needs to be uncompressed to make sure those frequencies aren’t cut off 2) You Headphones/Speakers need to have a range above 20kHz 3) What you hear isn’t necessarily the high frequency sound. Keep in mind that a speaker is a moving part and what you hear past 20kHz may well be the driver trying to create that sound. This also happens with low frequency sounds and some people mistake a speaker “chuffing” for actually hearing the sound. All these things said, I hear the sound in Yasu’s test at about 20kHz

The 2012 Staff Picks The MH staff wanted to do something a little different this year. While we still are going to do individual “best of” lists, we wanted to create a list that really reflects upon what the entire staff* liked over the course of 2012. And here we have it! This list was created over the span of about a month and it took a lot of effort to narrow down the list to -just- the 20 releases** we have here. Once it was finished, each member had the option to write a “take” on an album which briefly explains what the album is like and why they enjoyed it. Now, after a lot of hard work, we present the Monochrome Heaven Staff picks from 2012 in alphabetical order! *This was an entire staff project, but not every member wrote a take. This means that every member had a hand in picking out the albums, even if you don’t see their name below. **This list was limited to include only Japanese releases, since that is the main focus of MH. The List A - Tales for the Abyss Sample Song: Night Of The Knights Alice Nine - "9" Sample Song: Heavenly Tale アルカラ - ドラマ Arukara – Drama Sample Song: 踊れやフリーダ (Odore ya Furida) ATATA - TATAT Sample Song: Minority Fight Song BUCK-TICK - 夢見る宇宙 BUCK-TICK - Yume miru uchuu Sample Song: ONLY YOU -WE ARE NOT ALONE- Cocklobin - Iris Sample Song: Healing COgeNdshE - cogency Sample Song: 錯乱 (Sakuran) the god and the death stars - Tonight is the Night Sample Song: プール (pool) 八十八ヶ所巡礼 - ○△□ 88kasyo junrei - ○△□ Sample Song: ☞異界逝コウ☜ (☞ikai sei kou☜) How to count one to ten - Blue Building Blocks Sample Song: Colossal Squid THE KIDDIE - MA★PIECE Sample Song: mr. FIREBIRD lynch. - Inferiority Complex Sample Song: THE FATAL HOUR HAS COME Miyauchi Yuri - Tone after Tone Sample Song: Toaf_ MIYAVI - SAMURAI SESSIONS vol.1 Sample Song: DAY 1 (vs. YUKSEK) MUCC - SHANGRI-LA Sample Song: ??? Candy Warhol’s TakeThis is an album that is surprising and puts you in emotional wreck. It is surprising yet very enjoyable. I personally pleased with their take on this release. Unlike some bands that either end up being carbon copies of one another and being unchallenged legends that make music with the same old boring sounds, MUCC still feel the need to reinvent themselves and their sounds. SHANGRI-LA completely blew me away. The attention to details with effects and frequent mind blowing riffs has made this album one of my favorite Japanese releases of this year. This is not just gimmick. Not just cheap fan service. This is music. It takes you on a journey to a place so foreign you might feel intimidated for not having enough guts to explore it. 死んだ僕の彼女 - underdrawing for three forms of unhappiness at the state of existence my dead girlfriend - underdrawing for three forms of unhappiness at the state of existence Sample Song: Skyscraper Kills My Ghost In Your Memory [mp3]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/54067286/Music/2012%20Staff%20Picks/my%20dead%20girlfriend%20-%20Skyscraper%20Kills%20My%20Ghost%20In%20Your%20Memory.mp3" /> Plastic Tree - インク Plastic Tree - Ink Sample Song: ピアノブラック (piano burakku) Sigh - In Somniphobia Sample Song: Amnesia Thousand Leaves - EARLY YEARS OF SORROW Sample Song: Flame of Sadness 女王蜂 - 蛇姫様 Ziyoou-vachi - hebi himesama Sample Song: 歌姫 (uta hime) 9 GOATS BLACK OUT – Calling Sample Song: 8秒 (Hachibyou)

Wow...I feel really dumb...I am going to blame the news on that one (and me making assumptions). When they kept on calling it a bombing and then citing the death toll (and never anything about guns), I kind of assumed that all of those were from the bombings. Sorry for my ignorance >. about the allergic reactions to gun-control discussions in america those obviously seem to take place on FOX for the major part and i have to admit that i only watch fox through the catalysator that is jon stewart's the daily show. (he just did a roughly related skid on 10.dez...). Though I think The Daily Show (which I love) blows the fox news problem out of proportion, it is still probably safe to disregard most things Fox says. I am enjoying the discussion here, I will give a longer actual response when I have time later.

I keep on seeing people say this, but I honestly I have not seen one person saying claiming that "This isn't the right time." Perhaps I am not looking in the right place. This statement also means that you do want to talk about. So lets go ahead and discuss it (just to be clear, I am not trying to be combative here or anything. This is a good time to discuss it, so I want to have that discussion). So I think this is the topic that people are asking to discuss: What gun control laws would have prevented this situation? Or what laws would have lessened the chances of this happen? I am having trouble seeing what would help. We can't ban guns. At least not in the US. The 2nd amendment guarantees us this right. I mean this can be argued as to what exactly this means. Pen and Teller did an awesome segment on this and I agree with them. Long story short it is the right of the people to own guns. Here's the next problem. We need laws that can be enforceable...I can think of of some things that would potential work but they would be too costly or too complex or people just wouldn't follow. I don't think the answer is making guns harder to obtain. I think we need to keep them out of the wrong hands. How do we do this? Background checks need to be smarter. Perhaps a test of mental stability needs to be included? I am not quite sure, but I think it would help. We need to hold stores accountable too...there needs to be some hardcore punishments for not following the background check exactly. Next up is how do we keep people that shouldn't have guns from obtaining guns anyways. Obviously there will always be a black market, nothing we can do about that besides maybe making the punishment for getting caught worse. Do we say that individuals can not sell or give away their guns? That probably would help, but I still think a great deal of people would still do it. That and it also brings up the topic of personal property. Ban guns from all public places? I don't think that would do anything...I mean, most place that have been the scene of these tragedies have been gun free zones. If anything maybe allowing adults to conceal carry in these places might help. Then there is the issue of if guns are the problem and not the people. Yes, I know your knife comment. But look at the Norway bomber, he didn't need a gun to kill those, what, 77 people? Guns do kill people, but there are other ways to do even more damage. I suppose, though, that bombing does require a bit more knowledge and a more thought out plan, but I think when it comes down to it, when someone is going to kill, they are going to kill. Guns probably do account for more spontaneous incidents. I am interested in anyone else's thoughts. I am totally 100% ok with gun control (but not gun banning) as long as it works...I can't think of anything else except making background checks smarter and more through.

Nope, that's merely for Ito's giant hatred of yaoi. /off topic Ahahaha. Don't be hating! I don't like seeing it, but that was more or less a joke thread anyways. And let's face it, most yaoi fan art is pretty damn bad. But you are more or less right lol.
