Postmodern Jukebox covers BABYMETAL's "Gimme Chocolate" in a jazzy/kinda klezmer style. Not one of their best, but still a super fun and unexpected mash-up.

Can any UVERworld fans tell me if they have more songs like "優しさの雫" or is this one just a fluke?

Did the VK band DaizyStripper really name themselves after a 70s potato peeler or am I missing something?

I was never even a huge ViViD/SHIN fan, but this song is giving me major KIDDIE vibes. Some good ol' pop rock.

he is one of my favorite jrock vocalists (if not my favorite, Yusa is up there too ) and this release was awesome still hopin they come back as ViViD . ViViD is the reason i discovered jrock and visual kei in particular and yeah their debut stuff was bangin (dear/take off/precious/69-II).

Just saw Toni Erdmann (Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Film). Going to the movies and watching "arthouse" films that can be construed as comedy by any stretch of the imagination is pretty aggravating. Over-exaggerated laughter and guffawing is not cute, cinephiles. A light chuckle will do just fine. It wasn't that funny.

MALICE MIZER chord progressions, filmed in a church, fake violin player, oh my! They should market themselves as Western VK
-
It does sound like Malice Mizer!
Plus the church thing perhaps there is in fact some influence from our beloved VK band...

Not sure if 0.1gの誤算 gets points for "creativity"/unpredictability, but lord, the composition is all.over.the.place.png

Genre smashing is fine and all, but this is super sloppy. Like, what happened at 1:21? This is probably Lack-co.'s fault.

I don't really listen to stuff like this, but i actually think this is pretty cool. Like if I went this kind of oshare, I'd be a fan of this band. Just a few tempo and signature changes. The part @1:19 is just a bar of 6 which immediately transitions into a quick tempo change. If you follow the vocal, it seems a bit unusual, but you can follow the meter change listening to the drums and guitar.
Maybe it's just because I'm a tired rock fan, but I've always admired that a lot of Japanese musicians will sort of go "over the top" by western standards and have an unusually high amount of unique sections compared to western standards. One common example is I find a lot of my most listened to VK songs have two chorus sections, so the format might be something like: intro - > verse 1 - > verse 2 - > prechorus - > chorus A - > post chorus instrumental - > guitar solo - > prechorus - > chorus A - > chorus B - > bridge - > chorus A - > chorus B - > post chorus instrumental. Which for most rock/metal acts in the western world might be a unique section or two further than they would go.
I could be biased in my sampling throughout my life by not really listening to VK bands I would deem having boring arrangement, but I feel like this is definitely VK phenomenon.

Not sure of the context of this festival performance by Vital Magie (ironically, probably their largest audience), but it's mind-boggling. It's completely lip-synced and Tsuyumu is miming playing the guitar. Looks like he officially quits at 2:22, when he starts banging/drumming on the guitar and finally pulls out the violin bow.

Which VK band (past or present) would be most fitting to cover the guitar parts?
