Lolz both plunklock and black line on hiatus. The curse of the EU tour.

Their A-sides have always been cool. Can't say that about anything else they've done though.

TWO NEW ALBUMS FOR 2014. You heard it here first

^ Pretty much People make that paint by the numbers composing process joke a lot, but here I feel it's especially fitting. Even as good ol' gazerawk I don't feel Fadeless is on par with Shiver, Ibitsu, Derangement, Pledge etc. etc. The wubs were good for them. At least it was that something extra that was gravely needed ever since their songs became more formulaic after DIM. And I still find those SONY conspiracy theories funny/bs considering their sales went to hell after DIM, which is when they went to SONY. If they are innit for the moneez shouldn't they force poor Ruki&cru to make more DIM's instead of these poorly selling bleepetybloops? If I recall correctly DIM opened with nearly twice the sales of DIVISION. They aren't idiots. Unless what people are implying is that the reptilian zionists of hollywood are behind this somehow... Spoiler: The reason they suck now is the shit taste of the band itself.

someone start giffin'

Even though the song is very meh, Ruki's dancing in front of the mirror moves totally made this PV. I also love Reita's "OHAY GUIZE REMEMBER ME?!" at the end.

My friend gave me the exact number, but I can only recall it was somewhere between 600-700k

Flash-Fab-Supernova, on 08 Aug 2013 - 00:27, said: I don't think people that don't buy any VK albums should be allowed to criticize or complain about band qualities when they aren't doing anything to help the genre economically. Oh boo-hoo. I haven't bought a VK CD in ages and still my opinion matters just as little as yours. Why on earth shouldn't I be able to praise or criticize ( both sides of the same coin ) unless I belong to this elit3 VK-consumers club. How does one gain entrance? One CD a month, year, week? I bought a couple some years ago, so am I a lifelong-member?

Oh and David Bowie too has so many great album covers. My favorites being Low and Heroes

so... much... photoshop...here...hrrgg There are so many good ones I just can't even begin to list them all without crashing the forum. Here's just a few ones that represent something to me Burzum - Aske While all old Burzum covers are good, what they have in common is that they were( iirc ) all taken from established artists... Aside from this one. Overall a haunting shot establishing the real life dimension of the scene and the uncompromising conviction of the artist. A "honorable" mention in this field would be Absurd's Thuringian Pagan Madness demo tape, but the story behind that one is more sad and pathetic really. Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica It has a trout mask innit. Throbbing Gristle - 20 Jazz Funk Greats You don't know Jazz Funk until you've heard this one, buddy! Discharge - Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing Obviously the hardcore album with the the hardcore album cover. It's a cliche to say that the album art perfectly describes what's in store here, but this one describes the time and the place it comes from just as well. A filthy graffiti covered metro station with about as many used needles laying in the ground as there are people shouting in different languages. Probably a heavy stench of urine too. Joy Division - Closer

idk why I lol'd at ROMANESSYKYY. Still too much Versailles and not enough hit song Lareine for my taste.

You're a champ. Even though I've been in dangerous situations a couple of times and all of them abroad, I dread the off-chance that the bloodthirsty locals smell the Visual-Kei, alcohol and free money in me. In Finland I don't mind this because I at least know the language and getting about is a lot more care-free for a guy anyway. I like being in Kreuzberg, Friedrichschain and Neukölln the most, but I also like having my hotels fancy and in the proximity of Friedrichstrasse so I've almost always ended up spending my nights in Pberg/MItte and while the area is cute, it also not too exciting and the hipsters generally keep to themselves unless I'm looking especially dazzling that night. However when in the south or east my mind quicky goes into a "lolnope" if I even considering using the kottbusser tor u-bahn alone after hours. This time I'm definitely going to spend a night around those parts and either walk or get a cab from somewhere
-
Ya I love plattenbau lolol. I haven't done much block-browsing aside from a couple that were oddly enough fenceless despite being near central places. Some of the cute ones in Karl-Marx Allee had been fenced-up tho iirc You've ever been to U-bahn stations in Wedding after 7pm or so? It started getting shifty there last time even during daylight hours, but still relatively alrite. That place has been getting some food establishments that may require late hours, and walking from there to pberg or mitte is a pain in the arse. After being accosted by twice junkies and witnessing a huge brawl with bottles thrown and everything, all in the span of a couple of minutes at Moritzplatz I've started to avoid the seedy stations like the plague lol.

rrly? This looks like it could a tattoo on the bicep of some mohawk-hairdo'd chav wearing saggy bleached jeans that has ten pockets.
-
Miles better than all the covers for their DVD's up to like Vulgar[ism]. They all look like they were quickly put together by a Taiwanese bootlegger at best, which is odd considering their album designs have always been nice.

Fair enough and I agree on the part about kids being kids, however the bulk of the fandom is also made by those from the age of 16 to mid-twenties and most likely these are the biggest consumer base too with more money to spend, but that's beside what you're saying. The topic was twisted so much from the original post I had to read it again lol. However I still think you're seeing sexism where it is not more prevalent than in other aspects of life ( where it still is alive and kicking, but then we are going way beyond music ). What I think causes the huge backlash is just that how stupid and pandering "that" part industry has gotten. I don't think either Lisztomania, Beatlemania or even the Chi-Lites attracted even the fraction of the hate despite all involving mostly females. So with that said I think there are to major factors here, one of which is the internet where people can say what ever they've always wanted to with next to no consequences and the other being the quality of the products themselves. What people say and most importantly hate can still make a difference in good and in bad, emphasis on can.
-
Society? As in heteronormativity with pink for girls and blue for boys that has conditioned them to like it? I can't think of much else I don't think the hate is that big of a phenomenon outside of the internet where it's done mostly by young guys that are just bored more than anything else, so sans heinous sexist agenda. These same people often also hate "guy" music too from Marilyn Manson to Pantera depending on the person. The worst of "girl" music is just so freaking bad it unites the peoples in unadulterated haet. An example of something getting so totally trashed by the internet that it rivals the Twilight's is the Transformers series, in which case people have unrelentingly thrown shit on the fans and people involved alike. Irl however like In schools and such the people who like this stuff are a vast majority, and their parents keep giving them money to consume it until the kiddos discover cigs and cheeseburgers. I really haven't seen the hate expand beyond the internet where it's mostly apparent in places like Youtube that are cesspools anyway.

yah lolol I kind of mistook what you were saying thar sai ( although while you weren't a pop apologist entirely, the starter of this particular topic was if I understood correctly ). Still, just saying what Des said just now many would consider being a dickish if it was on last.fm and etc.. I agree that "THE DISLIEK BAR IS THE SIZE OF JUSTIN BIEBERS DICK!!!11" is just dumb and wrong. To elaborate further: Yelling "YOU CAN'T LIKE THAT" to a 7 year old girl will not get her to change her mind ( god knows I've tried that with my sister ) so taking it as a crusade of sorts with immediate results is a waste of time, but I'll never give them the impression that what they are doing is all good&okay. Improvement happens when people start thinking about what they are doing, and their feelings shouldn't be protected. @Pandabear I thought about age, but the amount of adults that like KISS and Rammstein ( lol opinions ) makes this a concern that spans the entire demographic, making TwilightBieber is just a fraction of the whole issue. I also don't think that "good" art is somehow hidden. It gets promoted everywhere from schools, magazines, cultural references on the telly to national holidays for some particular artists. People know the classics, they just don't watch, read nor listen to them.
-
If people enjoy something stupid it doesn't make it less stupid. I'm not trying to claim superiority or anything but shit is shit regardless of who likes it ( I like some shit and some would say I like a lot of it ). It's not a crime, but a crying shame if people decide to not to explore the treasures humanity has created over the years, and I think that it speaks volumes of those who settle for less while being fully aware what is out there. Fuck all this about "taste", when it's more like a comfort zone and an excuse to avoid effort.

I agree with how the hate-cult is overblown in comparison to others when it's something that's a "thing" among young girls like Biebertwilight and co. and that they are the butt of every joke stems from culture among other things, but that doesn't make the said products any less of pure pandering filth. In a perfect world sporting events and comic book movies get the same treatment and will hopefully be culled altogether. As for the topic: I really don't think shoegaze is all that it was made out to be during the short fad from a year or so back - I like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and some other big names. The others on the other hand have rarely been more than sooo dreamyy white noise that's about as exciting as listening to forest sounds for 10 hours on Youtube. I only like metal from the Extreme-Metal lineage coined by the kvlt intelligentsia - From Judas Priest to Obscura by Gorguts and then all the things I like about metal more or less fizzled away for good. The recent wave of retro fetish bands hasn't done anything for me with most bands sounding like tricked out metalcore or just plain cannon fodder in general. This and that - Old The GazettE up to Disorder is excellent for what it is, I really like some Animal Collective releases, old Slayer and Immortal are more than meets the eye, first Absurd album is pretty good, Autopsy isn't very good, old Behemoth is nice and so on. I go to Pitchfork and don't think it's any worse than other review sites out there and in many respects it's miles better - " Baww hipsters. "

^ I concur it's lame as hell. Could they at least play it faster, make the guitar sound rougher or do something... anything that would make it sound more hard hitting and less lame. The riff is about as exciting as drinking water.
-
Off topic as fuck but where does THE PIASS place? I recall they were touring either early this year or late last year.

Do we have to hear "IT'S JUST A SAMPLE STOP HATIN" ever single time again and again. We are fully aware. This sample which someone who works for their label or they themselves picked, sounds atrocious.
