He was smoking pretty often by the end of the season. They realized it takes away too many plots for him related to it. Not that it matters now...

^ That scene was so badass. I didn't like Sky so much in the beginning but she has become one of my faves. <3 Can't wait for that finale! Also I'm really upset at some of the shows being cancelled this season. Constantine and Forever? T____T my little occult/supernatural loving heart is aching.

It's not hate, it's feedback. And all bands need it to grow. Good, bad, or in-between. If music like this literally divides their fanbase in half, that's something to talk about, imo. Bands can certainly try new things, but they shouldn't be coddled or how will they know what works and what doesn't? Some bands move into new territory and don't care if their old fans don't like it, (Dir en grey, Mucc, girugamesh, etc) but that doesn't make people less entitled to their opinions. The sooner you just learn to ignore comments you don't like, the better for you. Because "haters" aren't going to go anywhere. In fact, it will likely get worse the farther they go in this direction. Aferni had their own opinion and they felt like sharing it. A thinly veiled insult to them (and anyone else who disliked it) only makes you look childish. So if you disagree so much, why don't you write your own review of why you liked it? Wouldn't that help your case a hundred times more?
  10. Well this certainly has my attention.

I'm gonna come out and say it, Mejibray is stepping in to being the new Lycaon. Early work was okay, then falls into mediocrity where their "sexy" visuals are their main selling point. I haven't checked this new single based on how horrible the last one was and the promoted song. This review lets me know I did the right thing... It's sad because there were 4-5 songs on the last album I liked but I guess when it takes a double album to get 4-5 okay songs in there, that should have been a big warning sign this band isn't focused much on writing solid tunes. In fact, everything since makes me feel like that was a fluke. I had high hopes for these guys, but I think I'm gonna part ways with them after this single. :/

Welcome to the internet. Do you know how many bands I follow that I have to sit and read comments on how every new release sucks? Sure, it's tiresome, but people are gonna have their opinions, especially if they liked the band at one point or another.

Can it be hip hop from any country?

I liked a lot of singles last month, albums? Not so much. Right now I got 2 and can hopefully come back with a 3rd as I listen to a bit more this month... Sworn In - The Lovers / The Devil I heard this band a handful of times before this release and wasn't very impressed, they blend in with a ton of other American metalcore bands. But after seeing them live last year I earned a new respect for them. Their energy definitely carries over better live, and it's basically the entire reason I made it a point to check out this release. I can't say if I can honestly tell any growth in their songwriting from the previous album, but I can say they got with a producer that knew how to make them sound much more balanced. And this album makes me look forward to the next time I can see them play. Check: Oliolioxinfree Dance Gavin Dance - Instant Gratification I was one of the many that walked away from this band when Jonny Craig left. I've followed Jonny's career ever since. But an old itch came back when I heard about this album coming out. I missed their quirky brand of math-y post-hardcore and hadn't really found a good replacement in Jonny's new projects, though many of them have become faves in their own rights they just didn't fill the hole this band left for me. This album didn't disappoint, either. And while it's missing the touch of soul Jonny added, Tilian Pearson really sounds awesome with them. It's good to be back. Check: Stroke God, Millionaire

Kiss Mana since I admire him but... we all know he'd be hell to get along with for any extended amount of time, Marry Emiru especially with his new Yeti makeover, Kill Isshiki just because I don't really follow them, sorry 'bout it. Hime edition... Hizaki Kaya Rame

Okay.... finally got around to my super long reply after listening to everything because these posts basically make my entire week! *~* BNT days are best days. @beni - Hearing this MBHI song outside of the context of the rest of the single sounds a lot better than I remember it. I still don't particularly like Tenten's vocals on these songs for some reason, probably the higher melody behind the main vocal is not meshing for me. But this song does sound WAY better than I remembered it, so thanks for making me give it a second chance. I'm also really happy you included BUMP OF CHICKEN and THE TURTLES JAPAN. I loved these releases too. Both of them were so beautiful and just solid song writing. I can't get enough of them! Seeing you write up uchuu, was a surprise. I was on the fence about listening to this album from the video they released. But this song changed my mind. Definitely make sure you catch up with THE ORAL CIGARETTES, you won't be sorry. I promise! and LMAO at that Yuuki/Spitz comment. He does look a bit like him hahaha. But Spitz is classic. I feel like, if you like Jpop you need to at least know that name or you're really missing out on great tunes. You had a few others I need to hear more of, but enjoyed them. miwa and Makura were both adorable, as I've come to expect. XD @fitear1590 - I'm not a huge MM fan, but they were one of my "introduction to vk" bands. I'm not really familiar with more than one or two A songs, either. But that cover of "au revoir" is nice. Nimo's version really feels updated and he was able to put his own style into it without totally changing the song. This is also my first time hearing XENON. I'll definitely look for their future releases. I checked Danger Crue's website and I don't see mention of them anywhere. So if they are connected it's not in an official way that I know of. They have the right sound though, I could easily see them fitting in well there. Right between DIV and SID. そこに鳴る! Yes! I saw a lot of bad reactions to this mini but I liked it a lot. Maybe I'm not as harsh on it since it's not my main genre but I think this band's got a really bright future. @CAT5 - I got around to that cinema staff album so late! I would have certainly added something and I'm glad you did. That song is great. Actually you picking it made me get off my butt and finally listen to it. I wasn't crazy about the opening or the closing, but the chunk of songs in the middle of this album kept me pretty happy. I hope they don't soften their sound too much more, though. It could start getting boring... You picked my favorite song from that ゲスの極み乙女。 release as well. The rest I'm not sure how I feel about them. I think I still like indigo la End a bit more than this project so far, but you're giving me some hope. lol. ATLANTIS FRIKKIN AIRPORT. Holy crap. I was not ready for this perfection. I directly proceeded to grab that mini album. I did not pass go and did not collect $200. @Zeus - Man, I have been seeing this Sigh's name everywhere. And I still thought I was gonna hate them just because I don't normally do the really dark metal stuff (I like my -core) but this song is surprisingly fun! It's not at all the chug-chug doom and gloom I was expecting. Well okay, maybe just a little doom and gloom. But in a good way. lol. I can totally hear why this is gonna be on a lot of AOTY lists. @fictioninhope - I'm digging the FED song, you're absolutely right that it's not DELUHI at all and it people shouldn't be comparing the projects. I will say I was expecting heavier vocals due to the samples I heard from CodeRebirth in the past, and in LOCUS he doesn't seem to get past a growl in some of the parts he could have really pushed it farther. Saved it all for the b-side I suppose. But the song is still really cool and I'm excited about future material from these guys! Calling wasn't my favorite on the Miyavi album, but he had a lot of good songs to choose from. You came back at the perfect time. He's finally moving on from his "world music" phase and just doing some cool modern rock again. Miyavi fits in well with this current bluesy garage rock revival, maybe he can help keep it going.
