Thanks for posting that, I'm glad he (and you) clarified that. I don't read the blogs, but I tend to trust what @Trombe posts (as I've had no reasons not to in the past).

I'm pretty sure they wanted to reform with Ice and he was the one who didn't want to go on hiatus, by the sounds of the post. But him signing with this company does make it sound like he's not coming back with the band, imo.

Thanks for that nod in the blurb, @fitear1590. That similarity was my initial attraction to the BNT song you picked. But PELICAN FANCLUB have a great sound of their own too, and I'm happy to see them on the list this year. Great album!

The band wanted to go on hiatus and reform as a new concept, Ice didn't want to. That much was already said in the hiatus thread. So I don't think Ice was the reason for the hiatus but he made it abundantly clear he wasn't waiting around for them to work out all of their problems and try it again. He sounds like he's just tired of the band scene and wants to go at it alone.

Dammit. I didn't really like what I heard yet but I had hope they would get better.

Game on! Without a picture they can completely pass for an American band these days. Hope you enjoy the album. If you checked the video in post that is a really good indicator of the rest of the album. It's so catchy, right?! I am still listening to it about once a day. I like it a little more every time I hear it too. It was so hard to pick just 3 highlights. It's good that between us six songs got highlighted, they're all great. XD Runaway is a great song too! I was really surprised with good it turned out. I was expecting it to be one of the songs I skipped (since I'm not big on Papa Roach), but it holds its own on the album for sure.

Japan has a pretty huge independent scene, even among visual kei. In fact, very few VK acts are backed by any kind of major label that I know of...

Content of the lyrics is probably the least important thing for me, typically. Melody, vocal technique, vocal tone, and emotive quality are much higher on my list. Sometimes really bad lyrics will make me laugh, but in some ways that's another thing I can find charming about the song. Especially if I know the vocalist is singing in a non-native language to them. I'm pretty forgiving if they sound good while they sing nonsense.

I like the 10-Feet and 9mm covers too. Also that NICO one. <3 And if you're looking for some more there are Kuroyume, DEAD END, and Nirvana tribute albums floating around that I'd recommend.

This one might take a while to grow on me. It's a little low on melody but it's not bad.
