I can't wait for a new mini or album. Great news.
  2. doombox

    Nice member list.
  3. doombox

    I just don't know if this list will grown too large for something lke that but I'll try adding a poll when my internet is working again. Its too hard to do it from my mobile. ^^;
  4. doombox

She appeared in the last episode. I think that episode will be it for her reprised character though.

I guess yes, some topics can get quite heated, but generally I just see the regulars in here who like to put their two cents in and discuss the post of the day. Myself included. Generally because the unpopular opinions are much more interesting for me. Are we really that bad? lol
  6. doombox

Welcomed and agreed with are 2 different things. This is the unpopular opinion thread, after all.

"2007-2008" Just after was basically when the trend really started gaining ground and metalcore bands starting popping up out of the woodwork everywhere in Tokyo. But thank you for that history lesson that has nothing to do with the point.

I'm really grateful for all the work @Ito and @sai have put into the new rotating banners and I was curious what bands MH would like to see up there? And then, I dunno, maybe this thread can serve as a resource if they run out of ideas at some point. I know some bands I'd really love to see grace the site at some point are: ONE OK ROCK MUCC Femme Fatale (and/or Kaya) NoGoD SiM exist†trace girugamesh I could do lots more but yeah, I want to hear from other users too.
  9. Okay all this double album crap needs to chill for a little while. Just give me 10 great songs and kill all this filler.

I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at since vk is like the antithesis of metalcore/hardcore, it's not a logical step for any metalcore band. And Crossfaith didn't make a name for themselves simply by being metalcore. They made a name for themselves because they had an intense live show and consistently decent music (up until recently I'd say).. unless that's what you're implying and I'm just getting tripped up by your wording. There are a lot of bands that don't even last a year in the scene, let alone a year and a half. If you're playing a year and a half and no one knows who you are in a scene that was fairly small (at that time), yeah it was time for some kind of change, imo.
  11. *throws confetti all over thread* Happy xMHas! I've enjoyed the couple of charisma.com songs I've heard, but I dunno if they're my thing for an entire album. It was nice to see something really unexpected top the list though. So exciting! XD

But I see that for basically every semi-popular vk band on tumblr though. And the rp blogs don't even stop at vk, there's hardcore into most jrock/jpop/kpop too. Though I grant you Diaura do seem to have a more visible following on tumblr than some other places.
  13. Preview is all hype and no content. Boo PSC gimme more than an intro riff pls.
  14. doombox

They were signed to a US label before- The End Records. But when they signed with Sony Japan they moved to Razor & Tie (which is Sony backed).
  15. doombox

You realize they did try the whole metalcore thing without visuals first. But they got nowhere so they went visual where in that scene they were different. And I highly disagree about their level of competence. But the real problem is their music lacks identity without the visuals. Crossfaith's music stands out in a sea of metalcore. You can easily tell when it's them. You can't do that with NB.

I like singles only if they are leading up to an album release that year. And they do not have ridiculous price and multiple types. Edit: and to be clear I do expect b-sides and/or remixes, music videos and/docu footage with those singles to make them worth the money) Othwerwise I much prefer to wait until the artist has at least an EP worth of material. But albums are my favorite, like mentioned above I enjoy when an artist puts together a collecive vision in their albums and all the songs work together conceptually.
  17. I hope they find a suitable replacement. New material would be nice.

There's hype about Alice Nine and An Cafe? I haven't heard hype about them for years, tbh. I don't even know many people who still listen to them anymore. The last time I can remember a big fuss about An Cafe was when the new members joined. Royz on the other hand does seem like their music doesn't warrant their level of popularity. It's not bad but I don't hear anything special about it. And their videos really cater to fanservice so I assume that's what is driving the hype train for them.
  19. I was actually surprised how many people voted for it. I was fairly 'meh' about it myself, but I loved 9GBO so much that I keep hoping it's gonna grow in me.
  20. We're getting down to the best of the best. I loved this album so much I am counting the days until that new mini comes out.
  21. doombox

This is super common in vk, so not surprised it happens sometimes outside too. Also have noticed foreign names are a trend, and lately more men's names (Brian the sun, Earnie Frogs, Sebastian X, HenLee, JUSTIN UNDER WORLD, etc.)
  22. doombox

    Let it be happening~~

That ジョゼ Tower Records limited was from 2007, this ジョゼ didn't form until 2010, so the first one probably isn't active anymore. I can't find any formal ohp for them which is usually telling, and I don't think this band would have used the name if the other band was still releasing material under it, more than likely...
  24. After a work christmas party and a church christmas party in the same day I can't even look at food without feeling sick. x_x

    1. CAT5

      CAT5

Then try not to imagine that Squid/root thing on the ARCHE cover being cooked...with ARCHE playing in the background. Ooops!
