I completely forgot that this band was still a thing loool Preview sounded pretty nice. I'm glad that this is a change of pace for them, although I'm getting tired of the red bondage rope ~aesthetic~ that vkei bands default to when they're trying to be edgy about romance drama / abusive relationships. It seems like a fairly common trope.

It was smart of Kams to bring him along. People who like Versailles enough to go see them live are more than likely going to be David's target audience too, so I would imagine there will be future shows in Europe for him as well.

How many collection albums have they put out total? I don't really know their discography all too well, but I remembered seeing that they had at least 3 or so collection albums already.

It's not an inherent dislike of Western visual-kei in my case, but it's more that just about every Western visual-kei band has tried to emulate styles and hallmarks that I find to be the worst part of the scene, mixed with occidental influences that I also dislike. I say most because there have been a handful of examples that really weren't too bad. While I do not have any official numbers, and this may just be confirmation bias, but it does seem like most Western vkei bands come from Sweden (especially in response to Yohio getting attention at whatever that European American Idol thing everyone on Twitter cares about, as well as in Japan from people like Dada and Kenzi. He more or less made the dream real). There's a fair number from Brazil and Chile as well, but outside of their own attempts at promoting themselves on last.fm, here, or on Facebook, they never really got much attention.

I minored in Japanese language, so I am aware of the limitations of their syllabary. Hence why Kisaki bands in the past have given us wonderful gems like "UGRY NIGHTMARE" I was more referring to how "転生の開花 ～se réveiller～" is somehow now "se rebeiller." Like, it's not even a minor butcher--half the name is gone lolol

Unless they were specifically invited to participate in an omnibus (such as recording a new song for it) or are part of a tour to promote it, I would imagine most bands wouldn't really know about being a part of collection albums, especially a posthumous label sampler. Like I'm sure a top 40 hit that's on Now That's What I Call Music 79 is also on like 40 other CDs just like it based on contracts their record labels make without asking the artist if they're cool with it.

Ah, I figured out the issue. Apparently CDJ had a "Type C" of this single listed, which was a mistake on their part as there are only 2 versions of this single.

This isn't their normal sound from the little bit I've heard, but Battle Beast made an 80's synth worship track that I thought was pretty cool
