They have a new EP coming out on August 9, "Imaginary Monsters" Tracklist: "Forever" "Burn Away" "Left Behind" "Pale" [Kevvy Mental & Dave Ogilvie 'Rubber Unicorn' Mix] "Control" [Tweaker Mix] "Shallow Grave" [Combichrist 'Good For Her' Mix] "Pins and Needles" [sKOLD Mix] "Shallow Grave" [Assemblage 23 Mix] "In the Dark" [Music Video] Getting a big 'ol "Nothing & Nowhere" vibe from that cover. The EP is described as "Dark, personal, and atmospheric", "finds the band at its creative apex", and "builds on its compelling blend of gothic, rock and electronic music into a sound that is all their own"

I only know Bloodbuzz Ohio, been meaning to check out more of their stuff.

besides the lol of track 2, nice tracklist. I wonder if there's any interludes here?

My favourite Aqua song: CoZgCZsKpK0

The new single is not eurodance - they're clearly migrating to an electro-pop sound. Of course bringing back that sound is not going to work, and they know that. But its still bubblegum, feel good music. How can you hate that?! It does remind me A LITTLE of Like a G6 (the beat), but its not like Far East Movement were the first to use that style. Anyway, they were my childhood. Aquarium was the perfect pop album and the first album I ever bought. Can't wait for the new one. (and my mamma said is epic, one of their best songs ever, i really hope they create more songs like that. I always loved their serious songs)

Its a good, solid album. Like their other albums, the best tracks are the tracks that combine heavy sounds with pop melodies. A GLEAM IN EYE, UNTIL I DIE etc. But people, their sound has not changed. At all. They've been doing poppy choruses their whole career. They've been doing this since DAY 1. Is VK so limited in its scope of sound that fans believe this album is any different to SHADOWZ or greedy dead souls? Higher production does not equal a remarkable change in sound. About the only change that has happened in the past 2 albums is that they're experimenting with piano. Not revolutionary at all, especially when its confined to an introduction track here. It at least got put in a main song in SHADOWZ. And that's my main critisism - this band sticks to what it knows. And after 4 full albums, singles and mini's, this album shows they are just too scared to take their sound anywhere else. Still enjoyable as a stand-alone effort, but in the big picture this is nothing to rave about. 6.5/10

A decent song. I do like the little breakdown and guitar solo section. Its nice to see them experimenting a bit with their sound. The past year or two's releases have stuck to the same formula. The video is really nice, their budget looks like its increased somewhat. Their looks is more reminiscent of their earlier career, its just missing Jyou's growls

The special edition tracks are terrible, don't bother. I've had some time with this album, and didn't take me long to pick out my favourites: 1. The Edge of Glory (this may be the best song of her career, its amazing) 2. Marry The Night (great hook) 3. Government Hooker 4. Schiebe 5. Judas 6. Bloody Mary 7. Born This Way (has grown on me because its played absolutely everywhere you go, and if you hear any pop song over and over again, you are bound to start liking it) The rest of the album ranges from average to downright terrible. But exactly half the album is pretty good, which I didn't expect, so it exceeded my expectations.

They were a bit hit-and-miss for me, but the first album did have a few good songs on it. Just so many bands out there that do their sound better.

Sometimes you forget that these musicians do this for a living. They have nothing to fall back on. This IS their job. And what the hell is wrong with Hizumi selling merch? You would prefer him to not be there? The guy can still stand and talk, he's not disabled. I don't see what's so embarrasing. Making it out to be doing this against his will - its pretty easy for him to not turn up to the lives.

I don't think savage necessarily means heavier, but it might. They say its going to be diffrerent than their other albums. Most of their albums have always had a mix of heavy with lighter, slower tracks. Maybe this one will just be one extreme? Then again, the two singles - one is heavy, one isn't.

Lotus was amazing <3 And the length was fine, dir en grey has heaps of songs that end abruptly. Looking forward to this.

Anyone a fan? I've been trying for years to get into their music, but the latest album "Nine Types of Light" changed that for me. Really solid album with heaps of standout tracks, especially "Second Song" and "Will Do". Their music is very, very hard to categorise. I don't even know where to begin. Its unlike anything I've heard before. A sonic combination of so many music genres.
-
ah crap, didnt realise. thanks.
-
I actually preferred their electronic sound, but even so the last few singles have been so-so.
-
Anybody watch it? This was one of the best in recent memory. Heaps of good songs. My favourites - Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Moldova (cone hats ftw), Serbia and Georgia.

oh please. she's said many of her songs are "industrial-esque" dance songs but end up having that same crappy RedOne electropop beat that he re-hashes over and over. Bad Romance is the exception, actually has an industrial beat of sorts. Otherwise, Gaga should stop throwing around genres she doesn't understand. But I'll keep an open mind until I hear the song of course ^_____^

The world of j-indie music is slowly opening up to me while the VK doors are almost shut. This track just gets me excited about the potential of the j-indie scene: ujvhuPY8_js Although I wasn't really a big fan of the other two songs on the 3-month consecutive release campaign. They were OK, but nothing more.

Its a great statement, but also an excellent marketing strategy.

"best song she's ever made" - heard that one before, she says that about all her singles!

Thanks for the advice guys. All we booked was the flight. We were just about to book hotels/hostels when the earthquake happened. My friends are thinking of Hong Kong/Macau/Singapore instead, which are places I've wanted to go to. But nowhere near as much as Japan. They've said next year to Japan instead. But I dont wanna wait anymore! Very sucky situation...
