Hello, I am new here. I have been lurking this forum for a while and decided to finally join, since I recently got back into Visual Kei and Japanese music.
 
Some stuff about me: You can call me Kas, I am 29(soon to be 30 but anyway lol)and I live in America. I first listened to Visual Kei in 2007 when I came across The Gazette on Youtube. I only listened to a couple songs and didn't really become a fan or anything. In May of this year, I decided to check out the Vkei scene again and fell in love once more.
 
Some of my favorite bands right now are: Xaa Xaa(they're probably my top favorite), lynch., Acme, Dezert, Codomo Dragon, Royz, Kizu, Kiryu, Mimic, Leetspeak Monsters, 0.1g no gosan, Arlequin, Jiluka and I have also listened to more songs from The Gazette, Dir en Grey, Deviloof, Nocturnal Bloodlust, Malice Mizer and more. I am always open to reccomendations.

I've found MUCC has been getting progressively worse and worse for the past decade, but still it will be weird/sad to think of them without SATOchi... He always seemed like a fun/cool dude too. Hoping he'll find happiness in whatever the future has in store for him (I'm not realistically hoping anything for MUCC, they're beyond help by now).

I don't think Kana has contacted anyone from Codora since 2018. Rather, it was his "bandmen friends" (who are not from Codora) who suggested that he hold a live in the future.

It's a bit like situational depression.  An event has to happen that triggers a significant negative response in someone, and the person ends up having excessive anxious/depressed/abnormal thoughts and behavior.  It's usually not permanent though, the person's symptoms improve with treatment and after the stressful event has ended, but if the stressor is ongoing than the disorder can become chronic

Team Kana and fuck BP records 

Here's a summary of the post:
Kana was diagnosed with adjustment disorder in January 2018 and he told the president of B'Forest Inc., but the president didn't understand and told him he was sick and fired him.  In March he got an attorney and in June he filed a lawsuit against the president for power harassment and for money he was owed.  In the first trial it was confirmed that B'Forest Inc. owed Kana 3.2 million yen and that the president did indeed partake in power harassment.  The court ordered B'Forest Inc. to pay Kana 3.7 million yen.  However the president made an appeal, and at the appeal hearing in August 2020 they reached a settlement in Kana's favor of 3.3 million yen and an apology for the president's lack of consideration towards Kana's disorder.  Kana received the settlement in September. 

He couldn't write about it before because it was part of the trial, but he had been suffering from power harassment for years and eventually developed adjustment disorder because of it.  Apparently the president never admitted to power harassment.  Kana does not forgive the harassment and was initially adamant about the court's decision because he didn't want it to keep happening to his former label mates, but after the president appealed he just decided to accept the settlement.  He wants his former label mates to be paid properly or to stop working for the label.  He also made it a point to say that the president did apologize so no one should slander him or harass him because of this. 
 
In regards to how he's doing he says he is physically and mentally healthy.  The trial took a long time and he had to get treatment for his disorder but he's glad he worked so hard and was rewarded by the trial.  He didn't want to leave all the people that were concerned about him without answers, and he wanted to talk about his feelings over the last two and a half years, so this is why he made the post now.  He would like to return to the stage again some day and hopes everyone is doing well during these times.

Compared to the 己龍 and Royz compilations, this is very disappointing. Only a few re-recordings, nothing pre-BPR, nothing other than singles. I was kinda hoping they'd re-record something from CANDYMAN. Not feeling very enthusiastic about this 🤷‍♂️

cali≠gari will release a new CD titled "15予告版" (15 yokoku-ban) early next year. The oneman gig commemorating the release will be held on 2021/02/11 so there's a good chance that the CD comes out around that time (no further details are known yet). Judging from the title it's safe to assume that it will be a single preceding a future album.
 
The band also announced a tour titled "Tour 15" that will last from 2021/03/06 till 2021/06/28. This makes me think that the potential album that will follow the "15予告版" CD might be released around that timeframe, but the guys haven't talked of an album yet, so we shall see...

the point is that it's a club, so it's not gonna include everyone. the problem is that gays need their own space instead of being mixed in with everyone else all the time. you don't see the goth club including people who wear bright colors and listen to lady gaga. sorry if it sounds like i'm overthinking here lol

Neither for me, they are always either hit or miss. Especially with certain bands or artists.
Also, it is the nostalgia thing. I might able to appreciate the new old songs when I hear it, but I don't ever consider it as the same song anymore. 
 
I enjoy remastering better than these two options. 

idk I hate most of vk retakes, they consistently bring nothing worth of quality, but this might the only exception to the rule where I'm 100 % on board with the upgrade:

Re-recordings are a mixed bag. Some of them are great, some of them are dog shit!
 
I think the only band who has hit it out of the park with re-recordings is and cali≠gari (not counting the TURN minis, those are... a different realm). The complete re-recordings of 10 and Bluefilm are far superior to the originals, as is マグロ 2017. lynch. and girugamesh have also done very well with their re-recordings (although for lynch., their album version re-recordings were not very good, like JUDGEMENT and ADORE).

MUCC did fantastic with 新痛絶 and 新葬ラ謳; some of the songs were better than the originals, though there were a few others that were sub-par. On the other hand, their other re-recording album, the one that shamelessly appropriated BUCK-TICK's 殺シノ調ベ, was dog shit.
 
My problem with a lot of re-recordings isn't so much the vocals, it's that the guitars are severely lacking and just sound weaker IMO, like on DIAURA's INCOMPLETE, グリーヴァ's re-recording mini (they should have just released the full demo of Bondage, I will never forgive them for not doing that), and a lot of SUICIDE ALI's re-recs. I'm not a recording engineer and I do not play guitar, so I'm not really sure how I can explain this better. Although there are definitely some re-recordings where everyone does a piss poor job all around.
 
Rant time: the GazettE's TRACES VOL. 2 is an exhibit to present in these arguments: talent ≠ intelligence; the GazettE are some of the stupidest fucking people in music; bands should stop self-producing their albums unless they're Converge. Production-wise alone, it could have sounded better, but it didn't, because they wasted production money on special instruments and completely forgot that garbage-in is garbage-out, and because they were monitoring it with fucking EarPods and probably laptop speakers as well.
 
I guess if your band name is all lowercase, you're more likely to make great re-recordings :thonk:
