Too manufactured and I don't respect the industry. I prefer an industry where the artists have creative freedom it has nothing to do with whether I like or dislike pop or rap music or anything of the sort. I can respect artists in any genre if I feel like what they're doing is genuine and heart felt.

That video is a gem lol

Most metal and rock fans despise pop? I am sorry, but where exactly do this retarded generalization come from? I have, throughout 15+ years og going to metal concerts, going to (mainly) metal bars and hanging with metal people, and discussing metal online on a shitload of metal foras, only talked to a couple of handful of metal fans who did not love pop. The vast majority absolutely adores pop, especially cheesy 80's pop and 90's eurodance. I have been to a countless amount of "metal vorspiels/nachspiels", plenty of them with highly regarded (mostly extreme) metal musicians, and the most played genre at, by far, pop.

It's absolutely fucking shocking that people throw around statements like that in 2019. Being so bigoted in 2019? The fuck is this shit?

Im refering to those "hur dur modern music sucks" kind of people not so much just in general.

  3. So it’s been a while since I’ve checked out this topic.

After months of this post being up, my opinions haven’t really changed that much to be honest.

However, I think because most (not all) metal and rock fans despise pop all together, you obviously get a sort of superiority complex.

So in short, I guess I don’t like K-Pop because of many reasons although musically, not too much but I don’t like how some of it is repetitive. It may sound ignorant but that’s just me

I also think considering that K-Pop stans are at least to people EXTREMELY toxic is why people tend to stay away from it like myself. I know fandoms have shitty people but K-Pop I find is the more rabid kind.

I also think many people avert it due to the industry and as repetitive as that opinion really is, you cannot blame people for not supporting it.

It maybe just be me but I’m just annoyed by K-Pop honestly. But hey, what can you do

  4. I was never a huge fan of Vulgar. In my humble opinion Wtd is better than Vulgar. Not that Vulgar is bad, it’s a great album and has some of my favourites on there but it never stuck with me as much as Wtd did.

I’d take TIW over Arche any day 🤷🏻‍♀️

Honestly quite shocked at DSS topping the best/favorite polls.

also, Arche being way more disliked than I thought!

DSS really was the album that got me hooked on Diru’s heavy stuff Imo

  5. I don’t dislike any of Diru’s albums as all of them are fantastic in their own right.

For me it would be (Best To Worst)

Gauze tied with Withering to death

    DSS

    Kisou

    Uroboros

    The Insulated World

    Vulgar

    Macabre

    Arche

    The Marrow of A Bone

Also I had a friend whose only complaint on one album of a Japanese band is that it sounded 'too western'

I never understood what that means? Plus it’s such a dumb thing to say.

Like I’ve seen it with many bands before. It’s called inspiration not outright copying. Hell, a lot of VK bands say that they listen to Western groups as inspiration

X Japan *were* a good band. The new album is probably my least anticipated album of all time, because I’m already feeling second-hand embarrassment for how YOSHIKI has hyped this up, only to find out that their latest songs have mostly been the pap that prevented Dahlia from being a perfect album. I don’t know how much cheese the world can handle.

I actually like the new songs.

Plus, I don’t give a shit about Yoshiki or his attitude.

  8. Imho, X Japan is a great band but I would consider then slightly overrated. Not in a “they’re bad” way but in the sense that “there are more bands than just X Japan” kind of way.

Then again, I don’t care if anyone dislikes X Japan 🤷🏻‍♀️

But I wouldn’t go as far to say they’re horrible (to me at least can’t speak for everyone obviously).

Blue Blood is still one of my favourite VK albums so

  9. Oof this has been dead for a while lol.

    Here’s a few:

I actually enjoy some of Miyavi’s new stuff. Even if I prefer his early days and his DLQ stuff, I appreciate the new stuff. It’s catchy and fun

I perfer the Gackt era over the Tetsu and Klaha eras of Malice Mizer 🤷🏻‍♀️

  10. Ugh this kid fucking pisses me off. Most godamn annoying ass person I’ve met

So he went on some dumb rant about how a girl won’t talk to him or say hi to him. He basically had a crush on her and literally just so entitled and wanted her attention when she was clearly creeped out by her. He even played with my friends hair which is creepy enough

He asked like almost 20 girls out in some of the most embarrassing ways. He’s garnered a reputation at our school. Even the teachers are annoyed by him.

Im honestly done with him at this point. He tries so hard to be friends with my group but we’re literally done with him. How do I tell him straight up that we don’t like him?
