It has come to my attention that I have nothing left to share with this board. While most people leave quietly unless they aim to make their departure a publicity stunt, I feel that saying goodbye to a forum where I've more or less spent every day for the past 10 years is the least I could do.
 
I've made a lot of good friends here, had fun as a mod for like 15 minutes, and loved being an official reviewer. In spite of all of that, I cannot help but feel it is time I move on.

I saw Yoshiki at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen bags of potato chips in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired from recording the new X-Japan album and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bags and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to preserve the spiciness,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a thing. After she scanned each bag of chips and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

in all seriousness, this might be my second favorite album of theirs after cakera. it gets a little slow after REINCARNATION MORNING (I really really don't care for MOVE ON DARKNESS, it drags the album down), but it picks up very nicely again with MARK MARS. it took me a while to sit down and actually give Emadara a fair shot, but it was worth it. required listen for those interested in classic/old vk.

Okay, so it was two parts. They pretty much played everything they released I think (?). It was massive in any case (2 x 45 mins), four cameras and surprisingly great sound. The performance itself was excellent too, now I have a LOT more respect for their guitarist who did basically everything live without any backing track (I know this sounds like a silly compliment but it's VK we're talking about.....), and even the bassist switched to playing synth for a few tracks. It was all very impressive! (and surprisingly emotional at the very end)
 
I can't figure out for the life of me how to record or save these stream vids but I made a few screencaps at least, lol.

Upon further investigation it is possible that they were using synths to fill up the songs so they don't have to show off like they "used to." though that's not a bad thing considering how they still show that they still can if they want to. Also considering the market and how lil uzi and suicide boys are rock now less guitar could be marketing. Yuuki is currently incorporating rap now too.  Still the review is way off, case and point not being able to tell the difference between Lycaon and Alequin and calling it a reject speaks for it's self as some sort of prejudice/bias against the band. And "trying to be rock again" speaks to the ignorance as Jesus, kakusei, rose, amaoto no rondo, ect.... Lastly this album is really a throw back album mixed with Malice Mizer/Mana-sama. its cool they still manage to slip in their 90's VK influence that they have till this day (Baiser, la'mule) this time choosing Malice.

you just want to compare very sensitive financial information with others in a forum about Japanese music, in a very unstable situation worldwide no less suuure. from discussing politics with very questionable views months ago to then vanishing from the forums after new rules were set and then returning all of sudden creating a discusstion about credit scores? there's nothing shady about you at all!

I don't mind it. I like the idea sort uhh yeah. Not their best tho.

Karma is obviously going for some old Japanese rock aesthetic with the hat and the song and the rest of it, so sorry if the rest of the world doesn't give a shit about what some Americans and Europeans on their white man's burden quest of civilising the world think about their hats.
