There may have been a time when news like this was exciting. But alas...

PSC Shuffle. I don't know if any of you guys have noticed but on the indie psc site it was announced that PSC Shuffle would be taking place in the summer. According to the site fans submit their Super Band of PSC members, and I think they perform live or something. I couldn't decipher too much of it. So my question is, who is your PSC Super Band?? For me, I'd have to say: Vo. Ryoga (Born) Gt. Reno (ViViD) Gt. Hiroto (Alice Nine) Ba. Rui (SCREW) Dr. Kai (the GazettE)

Holy crap! Budokan in less than 3 years? ViViD is really dominating the scene! Not even SuG's been there despite their recent diarrhea of releases (which aren't all bad. Gimme Gimme was kinda nice). Can someone please tell me which song RiL is? I've seen it before in a MusicJapan+ article but I've never heard it, or seen noticed it in their discography. I bought the Kousai Genesis live and it wasn't even on there either.

    ...I liked it...

Really loving this band!!! The growls are f**kin beautiful :D Great band.

NICE SETLIST. Dearest Wish is love!! I was hoping or As Cold As Marble or Mind Candy would be on it also Wailing Wall or Doukoko No Ato (AMAZING SONG. ONE OF SCREWS BEST). Still it's a solid set. I think I will get this. Please Byou don't phuck up!! I guess after being an active band for 5 years with many releases you can't have every good song... still it's nice to see some old ones like baby star!!

This is great news!! DEEP SIX was a really well done single. I hope this new one will also be a solid release. As for the live DVD this is really exciting. There are so many songs since Rui joined that i'd love to see performed live! I just hope byou will deliver on this one. Every single live video of screw is awesome but except for one thing. Byou. I love his voice in the studio, but the Tour of Xrays 09 videos are pathetic. His range is terrible and he hardly sings some of the songs, not to mention his screams are detestable. Just look up any SCREW lives on youtube and you'll know what i mean. Fingers crossed it'll be a good release!

Wow looks like blue is the colour for jrock this season! ViViD - Blue, LAST ALLIANCE - for staying real BLUE and keep on smashing blue. Good thing it's my favourite colour! Alice Nine really delivered on GEMINI so I'm excited to see what this new single has in store.

Previews and covers for DEMONS can be found on the OHP. I personally think the preview of the title track reminds me of old BORN. So i am really looking forward to the full song and PV. Kifumi's Bass really sounds strong in the preview. The melody sounds alright... the other two tracks sound... meh. fingers crossed this will be a good release!

Based on the preview I know this song will grow on me. The instrumentation is really well done and IV's bass is very active! but shin's melody just doesn't feel good to me...

To Be honest SuG has made some decent songs since becoming pony canyon whores I really liked ??音 -kanon- off of ??悪魔Sparkling. And Tokyo Muzical Hotel had songs like Karma Discord, 薫 and dot.0. Mad$hip was very listenable. That being said, most of the other stuff has been crap. a new single in june just has the distinct stench of garbage.
  13. kurorockdude

ViViD would do follow the trademark formula for openings... Not surprised at how much I dislike this preview but it'll most likely grow on me. I hope the B-sides can justify this release.
  14. kurorockdude

SuG need to take a breather.... this is ridiculous. And the titles are so frickin retarded. How many releases have they had since joining pony canyon? Way too many.
  15. kurorockdude

The only good song on DOGMA was Red Desire. The rest was utter repetitive crap. I want Felony! I want RED HOT COBRA! I want the good old born sound that I fell in love with. They had better not disappoint. Looking forward to the preview...

This single made #1 on the Oricon Indies Chart. If I'm not mistaken this is a first for SCREW.

Hmmm after a week I must admit that I was having quite an intense fanboy moment while doing this review. That being said, i still really enjoy the single and it is one of the best they've released. But they've had stronger releases than this... I think it's safe to expect another single later this year perhaps in the Fall... I'd love to see what else they can bring to the table.

    Anything by SuG

One of my first reviews so I apologize if it was too long! Any tips on how if could have been better would be greatly appreciated.

So here's my review for Screw's single Deep Six released on 23/03/11. SCREW is one of those bands that has a lot of lovers and a lot of haters as well. In my opinion, the bands strong point is their instrumentals. Screw was my first Visual Kei band so I suppose I may have a bias as to why I enjoy them so much. As much a criticism goes, I've often seen dislike for their vocalist, Byou. Whether it's because of his vocal similarity to Ruki, (the GazettE) or because of various weaknesses of his vocal range, it seems he's been widely deemed as the band's weakest link. SCREW have been an indie band for 5 years and so there is curiosity if this single is looking for a wider audience and if it'll have a "Major" sound to it. I believe that this is SCREW's best single released to this day. DEEP SIX: (I swear the first time I saw this title I thought it said Deep Sex) The title track of this single, it's a good song. The guitar work sounds a bit unfamiliar from SCREW, I don't think they've ever used the riffs from the pre-chorus and the little end part of the intro. I'm very curious about who composed this song. The instrumentation has definitely improved in this single. The vocals don't feel strong or very compelling and the chorus has very forced feeling to it. The bass doesn't stand out, but Jin's drumming is solid. A Serial Killer: Screw has become very fond of using synth in their songs post Cursed Hurricane. This song seems like a great live song and their is a lot of energy in it. SCREW's trademark distorted screams make a return and suit the song well enough that they aren't annoying. The song seems like perfect blend of Old SCREW and New SCREW. There's a strong FOTC feeling in the verses and pre-chorus. The chorus brings in the New SCREW. The drumming is very strong in this song. The guitars don't stand out but serve as a solid base for the synth. Mind Candy: This song may have the strongest guitar work I've ever heard from SCREW. The pre-chorus of this song is possibly the best SCREW has ever composed. Rui's bass playing in this song really shows of his capabilities. Byou's vocal melodies in this song are very catchy without having an annoying poppy sound. In terms of emotional feelings drawn from this song it has a badass sorrowful feel. The chorus uses a weird vocal alteration thing that will either be loved or hated. TRANCE: Starts of with trademark upbeat Jrock sound. This song doesn't sound like familiar SCREW but has a familiar sound of a different VK band. I personally love this kind of sound and the chorus is one of my favourites. Byou's melodies are fantastic but he uses distortion for most of the song. This song reminds me of ViViD's style of having a part in their song where each band member does a special something. Rui's (first?) bass solo is just great! Jin's drumming is once again spot on. The guitar solos in this song sound nothing like Manabu and Kazuki have ever done! Especially the last solo, that has never been done by SCREW (You can really hear their improvement. ViViD / xTRiPx influences?) Overall: This is SCREW's best release. The title track is probably the weakest song and it's still got its good moments. TRANCE and Mind Candy really show SCREW fans that Kazuki, Manabu, Rui and Jin have been working hard to improve their skills. Anyone who wasn't a fan of Byou before won't get converted, but those who already were fans will not be disappointed! It has such a blend of Old SCREW sounds (FOTC, VIRUS, VENOM, RB) and new SCREW sounds (post Kairos) that you can really see how far SCREW has come. Now I know that if they do go major, then it's because they deserve it. I usually download SCREW's releases, but this is definitely one I will buy.

IMO I think this is great for ViViD! This almost guarantees a new much larger fanbase. It's always good to see VK bands doing OP's (if you're an anime fan). They'll definitely becoming to North America if they're doing an OP for Bleach!! I'm quite happy for them, I can't wait to hear this release. I JUST WISH THEY'D MAKE AN ALBUM FINALLY.
  22. kurorockdude

I just found out about this band yesterday. THEY'RE FREAKIN GREAT!!!
  23. kurorockdude

The previews for the rest of the songs on the single are here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asgL8_bEEyM In my opinion: 1. Deep Six 2. Mind Candy (even though I'm not too fond of the chorus, it sounds like the rest of the song will be good) 3. TRANCE ( Same thing, the chorus sounds like trademark upbeat anime OP VK, but the bass part sounds really sweet) 4. a serial killer (meh...Barbed Wire clone?)

    Alright Thank You so much!!

I live in Canada, and here we use the NTSC system or something I believe. I want to buy ViViD's new live DVD, but I want to know if it'll be compatible with any of my DVD players. I also have a PAL dvd player and PS2 I got when I was in England. Are any of these compatible with Japanese dvd's and if not, what is compatible with a japanese DVD and where can I get it?
