    VK/J-rock confessions

I haven't listened to anything from Janne da Arc but Chaos Mode. That's all I need. I'm probably missing out but w/e. I never got the Diaura hype. Like yeah, they have some damn amazing melodic choruses, and that's what finally drew me to some of their music after so long. But to me that's all they have going for them and it's nothing groundbreaking. Not sure why everyone loves Yo-ka considering he looks like every other vocalist in terms of hair and makeup and his voice is just... good. Nothing amazing. I don't get it! Maybe I'm desensitized. I also wish they'd made more songs as ディオーラ, but that's not really a confession. I've seen a few people around here with the same opinion, haha.

    NEET Herodom?

I don't disagree with you, ''why is everyone so religiously dedicated to work when it's slowly killing them'' is something I asked a long time. Why I lived essentially as a NEET for 6 years in the past, barring random odd online payment type 'work'. I think it's that because most of us really don't have a choice unless you're rich, maybe some must make their entire being into their work in order to survive. And it's why so many try to force everyone else into that same inescapable box. But I've encountered people who genuinely live to work...I won't ever understand but it's not my life. For me, meditation has definitely been a key to slowly overcoming a lot. Seven years ago would I have believed it...no way.

    NEET Herodom?

None of that stuff matters, and all of it matters, but only to the individual. Forcing yourself to subscribe to what someone else deems important is where you lose. I say to really look inside what it is that means something to you, if you can attain that then you've progressed. But if you chase other people's dreams you'll only end up feeling empty and the cycle continues.

I just realized but I think it's a bit sad that nobody's talking about the old japanese music (not only in MH of course). When I'm saying old music, I think of the second part of 20th century. From the group sounds bands in the 60's to the cold gothic rock scene in the 80's (that eventually lead in visual kei), passing by the psychedelic progressive scene of the 70's (Jacks in mind). Are there people here who are interested in stuff like that?

Sounds good...not like I was expecting to be disappointed or anything lol. Though I'm glad it sounds more 'classic' style and has less digital noise, I think the excessive electronic sounds on recent songs drown out the nostalgic quality of his voice too much.

    Ten Years of Monochrome Heaven!

oh wow 10 years already, congratulations!! I was browsing through my old livejournal entries a while ago and several of them were dedicated to TW haha, I was only a teenager when I first joined and I met lots of amazing people and discovered tons of good bands and music (even if all I did was create game threads in the spam section like rate the avatar above you or say something about the previous person lmao I still had lots of fun) here's to more years!

(Edit: okay mods have turned my post into a topic of its own, so please ignore the first part lol) Sorry for the double post, but yesterday there have been some news and I saw no one reporting it. I thought I keep it here since they haven't announced a new single yet but they're still promoting their latest release. But basically, they came out with a new look/concept and announced a new bass player. Hakuya (ex. Malice Invitation, gore) has departed at the end of the month in order to focus solely on his project Ogyaa. New bassist goes by the name of Yuu (+悠) and was actually the vocalist for Affective Synergy and has a solo project called Ultimate Sonic (in which he plays guitar and vocals). (Edit2: he was also Zodia's vocalist) (Edit3: and Marvelous Maiden's guitarist too) Takeru [武翔], Vo. Arma [アルマ], Gt. Baku [ばく], Gt. Yuu [+悠], Ba. Lyiek [リィク], Dr.

Personally, I see a bit of parodic intent, but I may be wrong. As for the "no overseas shipping", that's really not surprising, most of the indies I follow really don't? That's what proxies are for. Bangyas being like "no gaijin" is kind of disgusting, but also not terribly surpising.

I would never leave any fandom just because there are "bad" people or something... First, the "fandom" should be a lot more about the thing you enjoy/like rather than the other people who also like it. Plus, there's "bad" people everywhere, in any fandom, group, circle of people, as long as there is people, there will be people with whom you can make a connection, and others not, some good people, some not so much etc. About Mejibray, I haven't listened too much from them, from what I've listened to, it sounded too basic and not very interesting, so I just moved over to the next bands xD but I don't "hate" them, couldn't care less. xD

This is miles better than their debut song. Getting WJSN vibes from the production & aesthetic *_*. --- This is nice, but I'm not crazy about the song. Full comeback will be dope tho.

Sorry to post twice in a row in the same thread, but I had another weird dream about a J-rocker last night that I think is worth sharing. I dreamt that Hitomi (ex-Moran) joined the infamous league of J-rockers who get found out for evading their taxes, only he didn't get found out by the police; he got found out by his friends. When they confronted him about it, he just broke down and started crying his eyes out, then he asked them for help before he got caught by the authorities, so props to him for that, I guess. Anyways, that crying must've been lucid because when I woke up, the entire left half of my face was stained with tears. God, why am I so obsessed with Hitomi lately? Am I going through a phase?

This was a few nights ago but it's somehow so stupid it keeps bothering me lol. So I had a dream that Virge released a new song called "get a job and I'll date you". And there was a music video for it too which was just Ryo dancing randomly in a weird monster costume. I think it was supposed to be like a werewolf costume or something? (I guess I've been a bit stressed about getting a summer job this year so my brains are subconsciously trying to motivate me or something...?? I don't think this is a very good way though...)

They're touring with Ninth fresh under their belts, if /when we get anything extravagant should be considered a rare treat. But expecting them to come to the states ready to play classics is kinda unreasonable...? I feel like there's an inital hard-on for setlists especially since its so easy for us to share em. It doesn't really matter once the show starts and you get sucked into the overall experience, imo.

22 years ago, on January 24, 1997, DIR EN GREY played their first ever show at Nagano J. Kyo, Kaoru, Die and Shinya arrived the day before and met Toshiya in a parking lot. They stayed at Toshiya's parents' house over night and on the next day, they booked two hours in a studio to rehearse. In the evening, there was an event and the future members of DIR EN GREY performed on stage together for the first time. Since they had not thought of a band name, they called themselves DEATHMASK and played around four Kuroyume cover songs. Toshiya also performed with D+L as their support guitarist on that evening. So since it's already the 24th in Japan, today marks 22 years since the true beginning of DIR EN GREY! 😊

    DIMLIM new single “離人” release

I'm 100% okay with them taking their time making good music instead of pumping out mediocre releases every 3 months tbh. They're gonna be touring in January and March so I'm sure they're focusing on that at the moment. But regardless I'm super pumped. ^ This If any of you guys are planning on going to the O-West oneman and need tickets feel free to ask me. I won't charge any shopping service fees. The preorder starts in April.
