I googled a bit in Japanese and found this entry by Gackt https://ameblo.jp/gackt/entry-12268922926.html He writes about Malice Mizer and their break-up a bit there, I just read through it fast and there seem to be nothing groundbreaking but at least some stuff I'm sure foreign fans aren't aware off. There has been some real drama involving Issei as of recent. It explains the full story. It's screenshots of Issei literally exploding on a fan, just because she made a meme. So basically, this innocent girl posted a meme of Issei. Issei takes offense to it, and starts calling her names. She apologises, and he feels the need to speak for all Japanese people, and accuse her of excuses. Then she says he's literally making her cry, and he actually asks for a picture of her fucking crying. That is creepy, on so many levels. She's a teenage girl, and you ask her to show her crying face? Not only that, but she pointed out Ryuya made memes of himself, and Issei straight up tells her "Ryuya doesn't matter". Way to stroke your own ego, buddy. Saying he doesn't matter, just because you think it'll distract from the fact you're being an oversensitive hypocrite. I originally wasn't going to post about this here, since I assumed it's get more attention. But it's not getting the attention it deserves. First, jumping on the idiotic marketing that Nocturnal Bloodlust did by making edgy comments at uploaders of your music, the people who actually are the reason your stuff is bought. And not even considering the possibilities Youtube has for self promotion. Now, going after fans for making a fucking meme?

Just mixes many elements. @BrenGun It all comes down to taste, despite however good a band might be and however much you try to sell that band to someone, they just won't like it. If you love Merry Badend, then that's all that matters. Not everyone has to agree with each other and sometimes it's good to hear different points of view, even if they are negative. After all, if MBE are still alive it's because many other fans share the same belief as you.

I can do it if you don't get around to it, too. It seems like Gackt left out quite a bit of the story before and between, "After that meeting, the environment during those final days was very quarrelsome-like." and, "After that I immediately went to America with YOU and other old friends of mine and began recording an album." He also conveniently leaves out the reasons why a break-up was discussed in the first place. Generally just based on my experience working in Japan thus far, if people you work with/your boss or employer has decided to nullify your contract or end something you're involved in without you being privy to that convo, it generally means that you are considered to be "in the wrong" about something, ergo the group takes action and comes to a decision without you. It honestly sounds like Gackt did something wrong and whether he was aware of how upset the other members/management was over it or not, the group talked about breaking up without him and then suddenly presented this decision to him, with the intention (at the time) of actually breaking up or getting him to withdraw on his own. I'm guessing the latter though since the band did not actually end up breaking up.

tbh what i find most interesting about this is now, considering both mana and gackt's eventual career trajectories is how they ever managed to get along they both come across as not just ego maniacs, but straight up narcissists. the only difference is that mana has a soul, LOL

Love Exposure Josee, the Tiger and the Fish My Girlfriend Is a Cyborg A Scene at the Sea To name a few. But these are a lot different from your regular Jdrama stuff, tho. Heavier, more complex and a lot more mature. But they are all very good romantic comedy films.

I want to address something that I feel needs to be. I'm sorry for how cringey I was during my first few months on this forum, with my weird fan theories, and my lowkey highkey defending of Kisaki. I was younger (granted, it wasn't THAT long ago) and more stupid, but I'm a young adult now, and I'm trying to move past from that. I recognise how much of an idiot I was, and I am actively trying to improve. I'm taking more responsibility for myself here, and I've been trying to actually provide more reliable info on stuff as of recent, especially since I have friends within the Japanese VisualKei scene now (one, who I view dearly as a brother of mine, is in a small indie band, and actually sometimes volunteers to work with bigger (compared to his. Usually bands like the AINS bands) bands). I also recognise that I used to be a bit of an attention whore here, though I didn't realise it at the time until VERY recently. The most recent incident was negligible, since it was more of a speculation based on actual logic. I don't think it compares to the stuff I've said in the past that I am authentically ashamed of, and am trying to look past. I'm sorry to those I have angered in the past, or have given a really bad first impression of myself to. I hope you forgive me. And if you still won't give me a 2nd chance, well that's totally fine. But I'm not leaving any time soon. I'm willing to give those who were mean to me due to the shit I said a 2nd chance though. Just know I'm not the same person I was in 2016 (and yes, I know that sounds so stereotypical, but hear me out, ok? I dealt with some personal shit between then and now that made me realise I should probably work on being a better person.)

I caved in to the hype and bought Assassin's Creed Origins. I'd been reading people's impressions and seeing their screenshots/gifs on another forum, and just got more and more excited to play it. I was planning to wait for Black Friday sale, but on Friday night, Sony e-mailed me a 20% coupon for PSN store... .. it's pretty sad that I got 20% off, evaded sales tax because it was digital, and STILL HAD TO PAY $64. (At regular price, with sales tax, it would've cost $90.39. Such is Canadian life) ANYWAY, wow, what a great game. It's like playing a dumber Witcher 3, but in a way better setting, with a more likable character, with stealth archery and the ability to climb almost anything. I climbed up a huge obelisk for no particular reason (there was only bird shit at the top). I climbed up one of the pyramids of Giza and got an amazing view of Egypt. The world building and the actions of random NPCs are amazing. I was in a temple for some side quest and noticed a dog hanging out with a family. First dog I'd seen in the game. After running around for a bit, I heard the dog barking like crazy. I was like WTF shut up dog. I went to see it and it was actually chasing a random cat that had wandered into the temple. Holy shit. I could write a lot more about this kind of stuff but getting lazy now. Sure it still has that Ubisoft open world jank. At some point I'll probably get tired of side-questing, but that happened with Witcher too. I started on Normal difficulty, and while it was manageable, it wasn't super *fun* for me, so I dropped it to Easy. I'm enjoying headshotting fools with my bow (thank you, aim assist), and wrecking them in melee if they spot me. So satisfying. (well, it's maybe a little too easy, but that's better than being a little too hard) I will criticize the lack of dismemberment, though. I'm slicing this dude in the face with a khopesh (sickle sword), as part of the standard execution animation, so WHY ISN'T HIS HEAD FLYING OFF? I really love that his idle animation is his pet eagle landing on his arm. And look how pretty this area is. My favourite gameplay moment so far: Some idiot guard was chasing me. I climbed up a ladder and there was a ballista at the top. I got on it and aimed for the top of the ladder. As the guard reached the top, I fired it into his face and sent his dumbass flying. It was just like in my Game of Thrones.

Some of my favorites: Sixteen photobooks planned for a 2006 release, that were cancelled due to KISAKI's tax evasion scandal around that time. About half were to be of KISAKI × random VK bands, but the rest were dedicated to VIDOLL, Phantasmagoria, CODOMO A, and hardcore bands that had played with Phantasmagoria. If I recall correctly, all of the books had been completely finished, but the company refused to release the photos. UNDER CODE must have lost a HUGE amount of money on them, and we collectively lost a good chunk of mid-2000s vk history. Distray (old Matina band) had a 5-month single campaign which was never released, and fellow Matina band LAYBIAL never released their planned full album. During their 2013 revival, DAS:VASSER announced two DVDs, but never released them. I was pretty sad about that one. Here's a partial list of cancelled releases in the weloveucp.com database.

Great review, I agree that they need to become a bit more versatile to unlock their full potential! However, I'm surprised that people think that Lime has a bad range. His range is honestly pretty massive, some of the high notes he hits are insane and he seems to have a decent lower register as well. While I do agree that his vocals will determine on how good they will be on the long run, I feel positive about his potential to develop a more versatile style.

While that wouldn't be unfathomable, especially after so many took their lives after hide died, I can't find anything to support this in Japanese. Only semi-related thing I found to the band was gossip that apparently one of Gackt's ex-girlfriends tried to commit suicide. Both sound like Tanuki rumors TBH. I've heard a number of times that Yu~ki was having back problems and other health issues, which is one of the reasons he never seemed to be involved in the scene after Malice Mizer disbanded. I feel like if it were just Mana and Kozi to reunite... What's the point? They don't even seem to talk that much any more except for random reunions and visiting Kami's grave. Mana seems like a difficult person to work with, but I also think Gackt and Mana wanted different things. Obviously from the direction Gackt's solo career took, he wanted to become more famous/mainstream, where as it seemed Mana and Kozi just wanted to pursue their own "art", regardless of how popular it would be with fans. I imagine they clashed not only with each other, but with Nippon Columbia, the major label they were signed to. After Gackt went solo he retained his major contract status with Nippon Crown, a separate entity of Nippon Columbia, which further leads me to believe label motives/pressures were also a factor behind what transpired. Despite there not being much of a concept of "selling out" in Japan, Gackt still has a ton of haters in that vein. Probably no one will ever know except the members themselves, their label, and any personal friends or tsunagari at the time.

Gackt was just one of three different singers Malice Mizer had, he had nothing to do with their breakup. Never heard that rumor before; 100% started by a western fan who was pulling stuff out of her ass. Anyone with a musical ear can tell that Mana and Kozi had no hand in writing Gackt's solo material. Apples and Oranges. Gackt was likely not at Kamis funeral for the reason listed in my reply below. I don't know what official statements Gackt, Mana, or Kozi have made because we don't really need to, ya know? None of them will tell you what occam's razor will, because it's not flattering to either party. Nippon Columbia decided that Malice Mizer were small potatoes and Gackt was the star. And they were right! Gackt wrote the highest charting single on Mervilles, Le Ciel, which also happened to be the most commercial song on the album. Gackt had the great voice, incredible looks, a legion of female fans and he wrote the biggest hit on the album. He was poised for stardom, Malice Mizer could hold him back. So Nippon Columbia put their money on Gackt solo and ditched the band, and their gamble paid off in spades. People tend to gloss over/forget, possibly due to Kamis death, that not only did Malice Mizer's label give Gackt a solo deal, but they dropped Malice Mizer. That wasn't a coincidence. It is what it is. I hate Gackt solo, but wouldn't trade Bara no Seidou or the Klaha singles for anything. I just wish we'd get one more album out of MM.... instrumental, with Klaha, a new singer... I don't care.

Wow I'm going to see them live soon and this kind of brings me down some tooo because I don't like mean or rude people.... Guess I won't be looking his way at the live.....
