Hi everyone. I say "thanks for existing" because it's really neat for me to see so many people together who share my interests. It's totally out of my comfort zone to go about and do this as I am a "suffer in silence" type, but I thought it was about time I try to reach out and get more involved in this music scene, maybe make a friend or two with similar interests. But if not it's okay, I just like reading what you all have to say anyway. I am from a tiny town in the South of the US, so I haven't gotten the chance to see many bands live or meet people who even like this kind of music. I've been listening for about 10 years, though I stopped a few years ago after Vidoll disbanded (my favorite band back in 2011, though now I see it was just because my teen self was infatuated with Jui, lol. still am tho) and I have been listening again since last April when I saw The GazettE live. I've never tried to socialize online with other VK fans until now, I don't really know why. But here I am! I like everything from oldies like Luna Sea, Buck-Tick, Malice Mizer, Aliene Ma'riage, Baiser, to bands like DaizyStripper, Matnerou Opera, etc! ! Ive recently gotten back into the scene and I'm discovering the potential of newer bands like Arlequin, xaa-xaa, Jiluka, HOLLOWGRAM, and beyond. If you have any recommendations I'd love them as well. Health taking a sudden turn for the worse always sucks. I have a pretty good idea of what it might be and if so it sucks twice as much. I will spare him speculation at this time however. I think it's some form of aggressive cancer which they caught a little too late. Prolonged treatment = chemothreapy. This explains why his twitter feed over the last few months has no pictures of him recovering - he probably didn't look too good and visual kei is all about visuals. I believe he honestly thought he could beat it and come back but it took the better of him too quickly. This may be selfish of me but if this is honestly the case I wish they would raise awareness for it. Cancer is a real disease and can kill anyone, even beloved musicians, and there is no shame in it. Good things may come of it. Of course, this is all speculation and I know nothing but this is what the rumors forum is for.

As someone else mentioned, yes he only played one song which I assumed was Genesis. It sounded really good live and I'm looking forward to hearing the full version when it's released as well as future releases.

yeah this plus what @Ro plzsaid are on the money... while i understand being cynical and saying they weren't being sincere about considering returning to indies, that doesn't really mesh with the lynch. i've seen and (think) i know. especially their history/stance with any type of management other than self-management it's early to be talking about replacements but i wonder who they will be picking up as support, and if they'll consider adding any more official members. Hazuki is extremely weird about bass players, the reason they picked Akinori over their previous support bassist Junji was because Junji and the band didn't believe Junji's skills were up to par. Hazuki said repeatedly he would rather have no bassist than one who can't play significantly better than he can. the other thing was Akinori's personality (specifically the Hazuki as tsukkomi/AK as boke routine that came up in comment videos and their nico nama show) was a pretty big factor in attracting new fans and keeping existing fans engaged. as for the rest of the band... Yusuke is a hipster mute, Asanao is interesting but quiet, and Reo is their Catholic dad who doesn't use social media. 4 piece lynch. was still good but had very little member/fan interaction, with Hazuki doing all the heavy lifting when it came to selling personality. the only time they really shone was when they were making fun of Junji, or AK after him... it's going to be a harsh adjustment.

I don't know how to feel about this. DEATHGAZE deserves a vacation because they've been going strong for ten years despite all the changes in member lineup. On the other hand, Ai is the reason why this band is still around. Even when things looked hopeless he never gave up faith in the band. Now that they're indefinitely going on hiatus, I don't know what this means for him. I hope his head is in a good place - last time I thought this was going to happen he seemed really depressed.
