Our stories are very similar! The age we discovered Ancafe, how we both loved Bou. I feel you about not seeing bands live because you’re not living in a big city. I live in a city now, so I have more opportunities (although I still have to travel for vk concerts), but growing up, I couldn’t do much. However, I was able to see ancafe in my teenage years because my parents wanted to visit my aunt and uncle, and they lived near Cologne. Since the concert was on a Friday, my parents agreed to take my friend and I to the location. It was bound to a condition that I had to fulfill, but that was okay. A year later a friend’s mother took us to Cologne to see a Miyavi concert. So I had some opportunities, but they were scarce. But I think seeing a band live, does not make you more of a fan. As cheesy as that sounds, but it’s more about what’s in your heart. I think this band meant a lot to us when we were growing up, and it still does. Just listening to summer dive on my way to university, and it’s gonna be a great day just because of that 🥰

I discover An Cafe by my sister's rock magazine, because the old family is really slow to start. Maybe it's 2006 or 2007, and Bou was in the band. I was 12 or 13 years old don't know visual kei and I convinced Bou was a women 😥. My little sister explained me Bou was a guy. And more later , I watch their MV on Youtube. My third pseudonym is Miku70, because I am great fan of Miku of An Cafe and 70, because it's the number of my French department . An Cafe is my first band of visual kei and I love them rapidily. I am a very shy, I bougth their album in 2008 and their old more laters. I have not best of or singles releases. ( and one cd made by my little sister and this not legal, but were very young and this his a birthday present). I have some lives DVD. This band bring me so much during my teenage years and after for my difficult times. I have not them in live because , I am not live at the capital and others difficulty. Their disband is a shook for me, but now I feel beter because their music live with me and nobody is dead. I have not command their last DVD because it's sold-out and I am not sure in the same time. Goodbye are very sad. 2019 is for me the year of disbandments 😔. For me, the death is more sad than a disbandement. I hope the ex members of An Cafe their are happy for their new projects ☺️.

To all of you lovely people here, this is the chance to introduce yourself! You don't need to get personal, you can just post who you are, maybe your hobbies, and what you like about AnCafe/when you started listening to them and why? My name is AwesomeNyappy. I started listening to Ancafe when I was 13. Bou was still in the band (haha, I'm old), and he used to be my favourite member. I absolutely adored his style and used to print out pictures of the band that I would keep in a folder or pin to my wall. A friend of mine once have me a mix CD with Japanese music that an older friend of hers compiled (she was big into visual kei and cosplay.) I'd already been a fan of manga and anime for many years, so this wasn't quite of stretch. At first I thought the music sounded a bi weird, but then I got really into it. AnCafe was my first and will probably be my favourite visual kei band forever. Their sound used to be light, full of hope and yet there was a hint of melancholy and sadness about it too. I have fond memories of listening to the band when I was on holiday as a young teenager. They were also my first concert. I had just turned 16, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Managed to again see them in 2014 in Berlin, and am very thankful for that. When they disbanded, it felt as if an era in my life had come to an end/as if I had lost a part of myself, as cheesy as that sounds. I really wanted to get their last live DVD as well, but i missed the deadline to order it by a day (I know...but I was very stressed at that time, and I wasn't even sure if I should get it for 120 euros are a lot of money.) I still try not to regret not taking the last chance to get their autographs because of how much they meant to me. I wanted this last DVD to say goodbye to them, but I guess there is nothing I can do about it now. At the same time, imagine it would've gotten lost in the mail....I would've been even sadder. Still, I now feel weird listening to them because that missed chance is on my mind (as weird as that sounds.) I don't want this regret to overshadow my love for their music. However, they meant a lot to me growing up, and while I'm not the type of person to be too bumbed my disbandments (because honestly, there are worse things in life), I'm still a bit sad that I won't see them live again. What about you?

If you've followed bondS France on facebook, you might have seen their song competitions, meaning that people could vote which song they liked best. Unfortunately, I cannot insert a poll here (or at least I wouldn't know how to do it), but I think it would be fun to post two songs and let them compete against each other. You can just post your personal winner (and maybe even explain why?) I'll just start: Ese uranai - Hisokyo

Maple Gunman was an amazing music video! I still watch it sometimes, and then I just keep smiling through all of it. I also like Tekesuta Kousen (the nostalgia!), Aroma, Snow Scene and Wagamama Koushinkyoku. Smile ichiban ii onna might be cringe-y, but I also love it for it.

I'm 24, and yes, we are xD sad, I know. I'd say most are 14-19. Last time they were in Europe I was 21, and when Miku told everyone to jump all the teenagers in the first rows could do it for a very long time while me and my friend were panting after only 5 minutes and agreeing that we were too old for this shit sad, indeed... Aw....thank you! But who knows, maybe they'll come back. Mhhhh....maybe. it was the gig in Berlin, 2014. But I don't think there's a lot of footage.
-
I'm 25 since about a month, are we already older than most of the fans? This is a bit depressing.. xD Thank you! In the (very unlikely, I must say..) case they came to Italy, if you'd like you can be my guest instead Ooh, well, that's embarassing hahah Is there some video of the thing? it sounds funny xD And of course we are going to better, we're grandmas, so we have a lot of experience
-
I think we're about the same age, so I'd feel less stupid doing it But honestly, if they ever come here again, the inviation stands (though, I cannot promise that they'll play anywhere near where I'm from, but we could still go together and be ancafe grandmas!) On their last tour, Yuuki tried to teach us a para para, but the audience failed so spectacularly that he gave up after some time ;D so maybe next time we'll do better!
-
That's true, it seems a bit late now... Thank you, that would be amazing! <3 I really hope it will be possible! haha that's fun tho. I remember the dance was easy but I never took the time to learn it properly. I'll do it before the next tour for sure, just to remember the good ol' days (maybe we could dance around together too) xD
-
I'd say 50 % of them I really hope they'll come again to Europe soon, but I don't have much hope....their new album has been in stores since Febuary, so I think they would've announced one already If there's one in Germany again, you just have to come over to my place and we'll see them together btw: I can still do the dance to natsu koi natsu game. This has been sooo long ago. I only felt a bit stupid doing it while doing housework the other day haha. I'm a grandma caffekko already.
-
wow, you've set up an entire live session haha Aaand I should have included Cherry saku yuuki too, I really like it too. Have you managed to see most of them live? I really hope to catch up with the lives someday!
-
Okay, so I actually wrote down an entire playlist because.....I had a lot of time on my plate haha These are songs that are all amazing live, and create a nice atmosphere, in my opinion. I also put in some of my favourite songs that I never had the pleasure to see live, but still would love to. 1) Lock on the o new sekai 2) Super Rabbit 3) Go! Go! Go! 4) Tekesuta Kousen 5) Ese uranai 6) Koukai 7) Aurora 8 )My heart leaps for C 9) Kawayus Rock 10) Nyappy in the world 5 11) Maple Gunman 12) Smile ichiban ii onna 13) Cherry saku yuuki 14) Natsu koi natsu game 15) Odoru moruhen tokei 16) Rinne no tsumi 17) BondS Kizuna I didn't know where to put in Rinne no tsumi, tbh, but I really wanted it to be on that list.
-
Uhm this is a tough decision xD to be honest I mostly like the older albums. I'm not sure if it will be possible to hear them all, but I'd really like to hear: Escapism and Nyappy in the world (this were the first two song I have ever listened of them <3 ), Kakusei Heroism, Smile Ichiban Ii Onna, Maple Gunman and you?
-
What kind of songs would you like to see live if the decision was yours? your ideal track list, so yo say.
-
Ohh I'm sorry to hear you missed the same concert but I'm sure you made up for it during the next concerts I think that was the only time they ever came to Italy... I really hope they'll come to Europe again too! Hopefully we'll see them ^w^

Awww...same here. I couldn't go to their tour in 2012 either. Not because I was too young , but because it was too stressful at that time during the semester to travel to their concert for hours by bus, and then return the next morning. I kind of forgot about it, and only realised when it was too late. A friend of mine was there, though, and she said that the crowd was crazy indeed! A lot of people stuffed in one club, and the band members and audience going crazy (or...nyappy? ;)) And, yes, the crowd is quite youngat an cafe concerts. I started listening to them when I was 14, and was at my first ancafe concert after I had just turned 16. I can only recommend going to as many concerts as you can. But I know the situation of not being able to go because you're too young, and you have no one wanting to come with you, hence your parents giving you a big NO. I hope you can still make it someday! Hopefully they'll return to Europe once more!
-
I can't say from my direct experience because I missed them when they came in Italy in 2012... I was too young and I wasn't allowed to go T_T I later discovered the person who was to be my (ex) boyfriend was there - I didn't even know him at that time. According to him, the concert was pretty crazy and fun. My friend was in the front rows and it was fun to sing along with an Cafe and they were lovely as always. The vast majority of the crowd were young girls, many in Lolita dresses, who were constantly screaming and crying at everything the boys did on stage. Appearently at one point someone got a little too excited and threw one of the bar's chairs across the room, or so I was told I really wish I was there too... but at least we have YouTube ^^"

Okay, I'm just going to start with my last AnCafe concert experience. It was in a small club in Berlin on their last Europe tour. Sadly, the band had to book another venue because they did not sell a lot of tickets, but the few people who were at the concert ad a lot of fun and energy! My friend and I were not quite ready to go into the first few rows (we'll leave that to the younger Caffekko generation ;)), but we also felt too young to join the people in their mid-40s, standing at the bar in the back. Our place in the middle of the room was the best decision we could've made: close to the stage, but also far enough to have some space for ourselves. We had LOTS of fun, and I even felt that the few parents who were there to accompany their under sixteen year olds slowly warmed up the band. Tney didn't seem to enjoy the music that much, but we could feel that most probably thought they were sort of adorable, especially when they started talking in German. And to top everything of: yes, I caught Takuya's guitar pick (by near accident really. Just caught it out of replex because it was flying towards my face. It's got a cute Nyappy on it!) If there are any experiences you would like to share, then I'd be happy to read them!

Sorry for the late reply! I thought I would get a notification or sth ;D I hope you'r still around, so that we can discuss Ancafe There are some very good songs on your list! I can also very much recommend a lot of AnCafe's B-Side songs from their older days. Here are my favourites: 1. Snow Scene 2. ese Uranai 3. Aurora 4. Koukai 5. Rinne no tsumi 6. Ame no Hankagai 7. Inazuma no senrizu 8. Hisokyo 9. Super Rabbit 10. Kawayus Rock These are in no particular order, but they are all amazing. It was very hard to chose my top 10 favourites because there are just so many!
